A t times I do believein astrology butwithin limits. As a

child, astrology didn’tinterest me in the least.My father, who thoughnot a blind follower ofastrology, does believe inthe subject. And as I grewup, he started explainingthe subject to us in bits,in a very scientific way;that’s how astrology start-ed making sense to me.

Yes, I have been to astrologers andhave mixed impressions of them —some have been very accurate, while theothers totally incorrect. I wouldn’t goout of my way to meet an astrologer butif I come across one, I wouldn’t mindmeeting him. We don’t have any familyastrologer but there are a few who areclose to my father.

As a pastime, I do enjoy reading myastro forecast, though at times it canplay on your mind. For instance, if Iwere to travel on a particular day andmy forecast has warned me against it, Iwould still go ahead but would take afew precautions. One can’t dismissastrology altogether; it’s a very vast sci-ence and the problem is that very fewpeople can master it. I think the same

applies to related sci-ences like vaastu shastraand tarot card reading.

When our new homewas being built, my par-ents had complied withcertain principles ofvaastu shastra. I believein the underlying princi-ple of vaastu vibrations.Personally too, I’m veryreceptive to vibes frompeople, whether positiveor negative. But I don’t

have any faith in tarot cards — I’ve beento a very renowned tarot card readerwho didn’t predict anything accuratelyabout my future. Lately, a friend who isstudying astrology is insistent that Ichange the spelling of my name, but I’mnot quite convinced as yet. However, I dowear two rings; one of yellow sapphireand the other of cat’s eye because myfather asked me to wear them. I don’tknow if they’re lucky for me, they’remore of a habit now.

I’m a fatalist and I believe in the theo-ry of karma — our actions make ourdestiny that astrology cannot alter. Itcan at best guide you towards certainprecautions that you can take in yourinterest.
