Companions in Prayer For Persecuted Christians

“Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” Matt 5: 10

Please keep our brothers and sisters in Christ in your prayers and that the Holy Spirit would strengthen them in their homelands.

It's been a fabulous week at Queen of Angels. We celebrated Catholic Schools Week beginning on Sunday at Mass! The students and staff led the congregation in song and readings. We were grateful to worship together. Hot Chocolate was served after Mass. On Monday, we held an Open House where everyone was welcome to come and see our school during a regular school day. One of our highlights of the week was serv-ing tea and goodies to you, our parishioners at St.Edwards. Thank you for coming we enjoyed having you. Tuesday was our Face2Face retreat. This is a ministry that provides young people to visit schools and camps and entertain and worship with the students. It was high energy and a lot of fun! Wednesday was a Math Contest. Students were put into teams and had to answer questions. What an exciting way to celebrate learning! Thursday, the Knights of Columbus Sponsored a "Free Throw" contest. Students competed to see who can shoot the most baskets. There were even prizes! Thank you, Knights, for this wonderful event and all you do for us!! During the week, we have had two ongoing guessing games. Students come down to the front hall and guess how many candies and in a jar and what grade nine student matches what baby picture. We ended our fabulous celebration with an assembly to announce the winners of all the events and to come together and be thankful for our School community. Thank you, St. Edwards, for being part of our special week!

Dear Parishioners:

We will be going on another hiking and humanitarian aid trip to Cuba early March. Like in the past we climb mountains and give help to those that we come in contact with. For some they never see tourists, as we are in areas where tourists don’t go. We will also be going to the Catholic church in Baracoa where we will be leaving items of clothing, school supplies etc., it is our hope also to leave them a monetary gift, so they can use that for their outreach program. We will also be visiting a school that we have supported in the past, as well as a medical clinic.

St. Edward's parishioners are always so generous. I will have a tub in the foyer from February 8 to Feb 22, where you can place items. If you wish to give a monetary gift, email me: [email protected], or contact me at 250 715 6297. Please pray for a safe journey for all our group.

Thanks once again, blessings to all.
