Silent Auction To bid on silent auction items, locate the bid sheet for your item, print your name, bidder number (on back of catalog) and the amount of your bid. The value, minimum bid and bid increments of each silent auction item is indicated on the bid sheet. Silent auction items are sold to the highest bidder on the bid sheet at the close of the silent auction.
The Giving Tree Choose a book off the tree, write your name and bidder number on it and your donation goes straight to filling the classrooms of PS 452 with books. Books range from $25 to $150 toward stocking PS 452 classroom libraries.
Box Game Take a chance with the pyramid of boxes, Pay $20, pick a box number and cross your fingers. Whatever is inside the box is yours to keep.
Paddle Drive Raise your paddle during the Live Auction to raise funds that will be spent on educational and enrichment programs.
Live Auction To bid on a live auction item, simply signal your bid to the auctioneer by raising your bidder number on the back of your catalog.
Procedures Silent Auction bidding will be closed with an announcement just before the Live Auction. At the close of silent auction bidding the table monitors will determine the winning bid and bidder’s name for each item. All auction items must be paid for in full on the evening of the event, Saturday, April 27th, 2013. In the case of Live Auction items, if a winning bidder cannot make full payment, the item will be sold to the second highest bidder at that person’s last bid. Payment may be made by cash, check, or credit card (MasterCard, Visa or Discover) at checkout tables. Winners of each Live Auction will complete a form to present at checkout. Checks should be made payable to The PTA of PS 452. Every reasonable effort has been made to describe each item correctly, but all items are sold “as-‐is” and without warranty or representation of any kind as to the correctness of description, authenticity, condition, or quality of fitness for any purpose. All auction items or services must be used within the limits specifically stated, and are subject to the terms and conditions stipulated by donors. Please use gift certificates and parent-‐-‐-‐donated services as soon as possible. The Auction Committee reserves the right to withdraw any item that does not meet minimum bid requirements. All items have been donated to the PTA of PS452 and are sold by the PTA of PS452 and not by the donor. Purchasers are not to ask for refunds or exchanges from donors unless certificates specifically permit. In particular, purchasers should not expect cash refunds from donors for gift certificates that are not redeemed for full value. Please be considerate of donors. Remember, there is only one purchaser for each item. Lower bidders are requested to honor the bidding and donation process. Please do not contact the donor if you are not the winning bidder. It will be the responsibility o f the winning bidders to ensure that there is no damage to private homes donated by parents of PS 452, and that all homes are left as they are found. Bidders must confirm dates with owners at least one month in advance, or within the t i m e specified by the donor, is longer. The Auction Committee requests that successful bidders take all physical items on the night of the auction All contributions are tax-‐-‐-‐deductible to the extent allowable by law.

LA6 K – 208 Animals in Action Size: 30 x 30 Acrylics and ink on canvas During K-‐208’s investigation of pets, students have studied all different kinds of animals. This canvas contains a brightly colored square for each student in the class. Each student used their unique fingerprint to construct an animal in action of their own design and imagination. Each square lists the artist’s name alongside their creation. The work is summarized with a quote from E.B. White’s Charlotte’s Web, which the class will read later in the year.
LA7 K -‐ 225 Flowerpots with Self-‐Portrait and Colorful Tissue Paper
Decoupage -‐ with plants too! The children of K-‐225 have created a wonderful addition to your garden. The big pot includes a tree that thrives indoors, and is decorated with a self-‐portrait drawing from each child on the rim of the pot, and completed with a colorful mélange of tissue paper decoupage done by the children.
LA8 Set of 2 Framed Works I-‐212 children made handmade paper themselves in the art studio where they learned about the basic technique of papermaking. Each child made three pieces of handmade paper and used one piece each to create a work of art using pastels, markers and watercolors. These were then collated to create a body of work, which was framed for the auction. A photo book documenting the process of papermaking is included.

Blanket and Duffle Bag I-‐212 children created artworks of their favorite animal using tempera paint, which were scanned and then printed on cotton fabric, which included every child's artwork of the animal. The fabric was then used to make a class blanket, which goes in a matching duffel bag. The entire blanket production of printing of artwork on fabric as well as stitching of the blankets was done in Mumbai, India.
LA10 What A Wonderful World The Rhythm and Colors of 1-‐221 Water colors and white oil pastel 21 x 18 framed Beautifully vibrant collaborative piece created by 1-‐221. The artwork is made up of 27 watercolor and oil pastel strips -‐ one cut from every student's individual painting. The children selected favorite parts of their larger painting to include in this final piece. In celebration of New Orleans the children worked while listening to Louis Armstrong (who they were also studying in class). They were asked to draw and paint what they heard-‐-‐ some kids scribbled wildly as Armstrong scatted, others made broad sweeping strokes as the music slowed down. They all listened very carefully to the music and tried to visually express the jazz sounds of New Orleans. Through very saturated watercolor and white oil pastels What A Wonderful World captures how our 27 children visually express the energy of jazz. Each worked in a unique way, creating a unified, stunning piece of art. The back of the artworks lists each child's name corresponding to their particular strip.

ART STUDIO K208, K208, What Do You See? $30 Adapted from Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What do you See?, the students of K208 have written and illustrated their own picture book. The pages feature the students’ individually created fingerprint animals.
K-‐225 Flowerpots with Self Portrait Decoupage $20 Flowerpots for succulent plants that thrive in many indoor apartment conditions . The flowerpots are decorated with decoupage of tissue paper in colors chosen by each child and have self-‐portraits drawn by the children incorporated into the decoupage.
1-‐221 What A Wonderful World! Painting and Drawing Jazz $25 8 x 8 square framed watercolor and oil pastel Every child painted and drew while listening to 1-‐221's class song — "What a Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong— continuing the year's celebration of New Orleans. First the students drew with white pastels on white paper (called "invisible drawing") to the rhythm of the music. They had a blast! They drew quickly as the music sped up and used long sweeping strokes as it slowed down. Each expressed what they heard in their own unique way. Finally, the children used watercolors to saturate their papers and make their previously invisible drawings come to life! Their intensely vibrant paintings were so expressive that we knew all we could do was frame each one as is! Exquisitely abstract your child's painting captures how he/she sees the energy of jazz and learned to dance with paint and pastels.
