  • DAVE WHITE

Dave White is a contemporary British Artist who dedicates his work to celebrating popular culture and interpreting emotive issues.

Having studied Fine Art and graduating in BA (Hons) Fine Art (Painting) at Liverpool John Moores University, White has enjoyed success from the early inception of his career. Selected for the Northern Graduates exhibition at the Royal College of Art in 1994, White went on to exhibit with his initial animal series. Highlights of this period include the Blue Cross centenary celebration exhibition at Sotheby’s London and a series of international art fairs and exhibitions with Connaught Brown.

Since that time, White has created a series of collections and subject matters which reflect popular culture. In 2002 he pioneered the Sneaker Art movement by executing a series of Pop Art inspired sneaker portraits. This led to a series of international exhibitions and long term collaborations with Nike and Brand Jordan. Further to this, White went on to create Pop Art inspired works with international exhibition highlights such as the People’s Square Exhibition Hall (Shanghai), Dia Art Centre (New York), Centre for Arts (Rotterdam), Art Basel Week (Miami), Truman Brewery (London) and the Liverpool International Biennial of Contemporary Art.

White worked on the ‘Project on Creativity’ with Chuck Close at the New Museum of Contemporary Art, New York in 2010, where he was featured again in 2012 in ‘CNNCTD+100’ showcasing the 100 cultural influencers of this generation with Cindy Sherman and Pharrell Williams. Last year, White launched his largest most successful solo exhibition in London, ‘Natural Selection’ inspired by endangered species, with over 40 works at the prestigious Hospital Club Gallery.

In September 2012, White undertook a residency at the Goss Foundation of Contemporary Art in Dallas, where he featured not only in an exhibition, but also created and sold a painting in situ at a contemporary art auction hosted by Simon de Pury for Phillips de Pury in aid of the MTV Staying Alive Foundation www.mtvredefine.com

  • LOUGHRAN GALLERY

Founded by Juliette Loughran, Loughran Gallery started off in the North of England. With exhibitions showcasing works from contemporary Artists in London locations throughout the year, Loughran Gallery’s ethos is simple: to provide a welcoming environment to find something you love.

Juliette followed her father into the family business, a leading independent performance and luxury car specialist, through which she decided to combine her entrepreneurial spirit with her own vision of an art gallery. From this, Loughran Gallery emerged with a refreshing and relaxed approach to art, shows are guaranteed to be intriguing, fun and unintimidating.

‘Sold Out’ is Loughran Gallery’s sixth exhibition of the year, following on from the success of previous shows held across London and will feature works by contemporary Artist Dave White. It’s a rare opportunity to view works from a back catalogue of limited Edition prints by this celebrated British Artist.

Dave White said: “The collection covers a variety of subject matter, so there is a great chance for people to view and obtain works from a collection exhibited together. Some of the details on the Edition, the 24 Carat Gold Leaf, the acrylic hand finishing, really have to be seen to be appreciated. This is a perfect time to celebrate the past, whilst I’m currently working on a new chapter of work. These pieces are unlikely to be in the same room again, so it really is a special moment in time.”

Sold Out features unique Artist proofs from a variety of subject matters and styles from the past decade. Classic imagery from White’s repertoire past and present will also be included. From Sneakers to Americana, this exhibition will highlight key pieces from the Artist’s personal collection.

Juliette Loughran said: “I am a huge fan of Dave and his work so I’m really excited about this show. It’s a milestone for Loughran Gallery, and for me, getting all of these pieces back together in one exhibition is something that hasn’t been done before. I can’t wait for the show to open and for people to see it, it’s going to be a really fun and special show.”
