Besides sending copies of the digitized filesto both Lok Sabha speaker as well as RajyaSabha vice chairman, Ms Banerjee, who isembarking on a trip to Delhi, will personallyhand over a copy to President PranabMukherjee tomorrow.

Ms Banerjee would also be meeting DelhiChief Minister Arvind Kejriwal onWednesday.

"I will personally hand over a copy of thefiles to the president on Tuesday. Day aftertomorrow, Kejriwal had invited me for a sem-inar, which I will attend," she said.

The Banerjee government on September 18made public 64 classified files on NetajiSubhas Chandra Bose.

Ms Banerjee also reiterated the demand forthe central government to declassify 134secret documents on Netaji.

"This is not my demand along, but thewhole country wants to know what happenedto Netaji. So the centre must declassify thefiles on Netaji," she said.

Commission has expressed its disapproval ofthe practice of forging post-poll alliances onthe ground that the electors are misled as theyare not privy to it.

The plea, earlier rejected by the HighCourt, had challenged the "validity of post-poll alliances among political parties" on theground that the same was a "breach of thepromises made by them during the electioncampaigns".

It also said that promises made in the man-ifesto have to be enforced as otherwise itwould amount to breach of trust.

Disputes Tribunal, said sources."Both the states were requested to co-oper-

ate and see how best they can handle theshortfall situation collectively," sources saidafter the meeting of Cauvery SupervisoryCommittee. Earlier this month, Karnatakahad expressed inability to release Cauverywaters to Tamil Nadu, saying it was facing its"worst drought" in over four decades.

"We are trying to improve data collectionand data management and analysis so thatthis kind of distress situation can be under-stood well and appropriate decisions can betaken," the sources added. The Centre'sadvice came in the wake of Tamil Nadu ask-ing the Committee to order Karnataka that itmake good an alleged shortfall of 47.549TMCft water as on September 24.

The shortfall, Tamil Nadu said, has beenaffecting ongoing cultivation of samba cropand, thus, the state's food security. TamilNadu also demanded that the Committeeensure delivery of 48 TMCft of water due tothe state at Billigundulu for the months ofOctober-January as prescribed in the finalorder of the tribunal. It further charged thatKarnataka overdrew 37 TMCft water abovethe 103 TMCft it was entitled to in 2014-15.

In its submission before the Committee,therefore, Tamil Nadu government demandedthat a mechanism be set up to monitorinflows into major reservoirs along with thedrawing of water by Karnataka and the extentof the area irrigated. The Committee, TamilNadu insisted, should ensure that Karnatakadoes not draw water for summer irrigationand the balance storage is carried over for usein the next irrigation season.
