That way, managing money becomes a part of their everyday life and they’ll get comfortable with it sooner. At Manurewa East School we provide a school banking programme with the ASB. If you would like to open a Headstart Savings account for your child please ask the office for an application form. Once you have completed and signed the form for your child you can return it to the school office and we will forward the application to the ASB on your behalf. The ASB will contact you directly with your child’s bank account number. We have a secure ASB School banking deposit box at school where your child can put their money into a deposit envelope and post it into the secure deposit box. The deposit box will be emptied on our School Banking Day, which is Thursday and the banking deposit envelopes are delivered to the bank.

On Saturday 21st May 21 Year 5/6 students were given the opportunity to go to the OMGTech! Rangers event in Auckland City. At the event, our learners got to try out coding, robotics, 3D printing, unmaking and science. It was a wonderful day and everyone who attended was a great representative for our school!

We would like to thank OMGTech for offering us this fantastic experience, Mr Leilua, Mr Tauau, Mr Reedy and Mrs Leilua

Market Day for 2016 was held last Friday and was a great success!

Together, we raised a total of $2662 to go toward the Senior School Camp in Term 3!

Thank you to the families who gave up their time, donated items and came along to come and support our children! A special thanks goes to the Learning Assistants and wonderful Student Teachers for volunteering their time to help the children with their stalls!

This week in E4

We read the book ‘The Pig that Learned to Jig’. We drew some pigs using white pencils on black paper to go up on our classroom wall. They look amazing!
