Andalucía es una tierra que siempre intenta dar lo mejor de sí y que demuestra día a día que con esfuerzo, trabajo y dedicación todo se puede alcanzar. Desde hace ya muchos años nuestra tierra es una potencia dentro del panorama deportivo español. Su capacidad organizadora de grandes eventos deportivos nacionales e internacionales y su magnífica infraestructura la han convertido en destino privilegiado de importantes competiciones. Por ello la Consejería no puede dejar de brindar su apoyo a eventos que suponen un beneficio tanto económico como turístico para Andalucía.

En las últimas décadas los andaluces hemos apostado claramente por eventos deportivos que generen un impacto económico y turístico en el entorno en el que se disputan, y buen ejemplo de ello es el Torneo Internacional de Polo de Sotogrande, que celebra su 49ª edición entre finales de julio y a lo largo del mes de agosto, y que sitúa de nuevo a Andalucía en destino ideal para esta modalidad deportiva y nos sirve de promoción turística en todo el mundo.

Hoy somos destino privilegiado de importantes citas y esta competición internacional, uno de los cuatro torneos más importantes del mundo, es un excelente reclamo para los miles de turistas que nos visitan cada verano.

No quiero finalizar estas palabras sin dar la bienvenida a tierras gaditanas y a Andalucía a todos los aficionados al polo. Que disfruten durante su estancia entre nosotros de los paisajes, la gastronomía, el patrimonio histórico o la hospitalidad andaluza, que estoy convencidoque les cautivará.

Andalusia is a land that always tries to give the best of itself and shows day by day that with effort, work, and dedication everything can be achieved. For many years now our land has been a powerhouse within the Spanish sports scene. Its capacity to organize large national and international sporting events and its magnificent infrastructure have made it a privileged destination for important competitions. That is why the Regional Ministry cannot fail to support events that are both economically and touristically, beneficial for Andalusia.

In recent decades we Andalusians have clearly bet on sporting events that generate an economic and tourist impact on the environment in which they are played, and a good example of this is the International Polo Tournament in Sotogrande, which celebrates its 49th edition between late July and throughout the month of August, and which again places Andalusia in an ideal destination for this sport and serves as a tourist promotion worldwide.

Today we are a privileged destination for important events and this international competition, one of the four most important tournaments in the world, is an excellent attraction for the thousands of tourists who visit us every summer.

I do not want to finish these words without welcoming all polo fans to Cádiz and Andalusia. May you enjoy during your stay among us the landscapes, the gastronomy, the historical heritage, or the Andalusian hospitality, which I am convinced will captivate you.

En este año en el que todos nos hemos tenido que enfrentar a tantas dificultades, desde el Ayuntamiento debemos mostrar a Santa María Polo Club nuestro agradecimiento por celebrar la 49 edición de su Torneo Internacional, la cita veraniega más importante de este deporte a nivel mundial. Estoy seguro de que esta competición volverá a ser uno de los principales referentes turísticos de San Roque, contribuyendo a crear riqueza y empleo y, también, a proyectar la imagen del municipio para atraer a futuros visitantes.

Desde el Ayuntamiento reiteramos nuestro compromiso con un torneo que el año próximo cumplirá medio siglo. Como ha ocurrido tradicionalmente, brindaremos nuestro apoyo institucional y logístico, y contribuiremos en la medida de nuestras competencias y posibilidades a que las copas de oro, plata y bronce se disputen en el mejor ambiente y con el mayor atractivo posible.

Santa María Polo Club es una entidad clave en el desarrollo turístico del municipio, y está inmersa en una serie de proyectos que contribuirán a reactivar la economía sanroqueña, en la que el turismo es una pieza fundamental. Por ello, garantizamos nuestro respaldo a unas iniciativas en las que, además, se conjuga el crecimiento económico con la salvaguarda del medio ambiente, lo que cada vez resulta más importante para prevenir crisis futuras.

Quisiera concluir enviando mi saludo más cordial a los lectores de estas páginas y, por extensión, a todas las personas que, bien sea en la organización o en el ámbito deportivo, participan para que este 49 Torneo Internacional de Polo vuelva a ser un éxito.

We have all had to face so many hardships this year, hence San Roque Borough Council would like to thank Santa Maria Polo Club more than ever for hosting the 49th edition of the International Polo Tournament. This is the most important summertime polo event in the world. I am positive that this tournament will be one of the main tourist attractions in the San Roque area, contributing to creating wealth and employment. Moreover, enhancing the image of our municipality to attract visitors in the future.

The Borough Council would like to reaffirm our commitment with the Tournament as it will have been held for half a century this coming year. As always and without breaking a longstanding tradition, we shall be offering our institutional and logistic support. In addition to contributing to make sure the Gold, Silver & Bronze Cups can be held with the best possible atmosphere and as attractive as ever.

Santa Maria Polo Club is a key organisation in the development of tourism in the borough; they are immersed in a series of projects which will contribute to the reactivation of San Roque’s economy, in which the tourist industry is a fundamental part.

El Torneo Internacional MANSION de Polo no falta a su cita anual en Sotogrande. El compromiso y la ilusión han sido más fuertes que las dificultades a las que nos hemos podido enfrentar por la pandemia. Y es que el verano no sería lo mismo sin que ruede la bocha sobre las canchas del Santa María Polo Club. Por delante tenemos cinco semanas para festejar el feliz reencuentro.

La edición 2020 del Torneo Internacional MANSION de Polo será necesariamente diferente, porque las circunstancias influyen y hay que adaptarse al nuevo escenario. Pero lo sustancial no cambia: volveremos a ver una competición de alto nivel con presencia de equipos y jugadores de diferentes nacionalidades. La actividad se prolongará hasta finales de agosto con la disputa de las tradicionales Copas de Bronce, Plata y Oro.

The International MANSION Polo Tournament does not miss its annual appointment in Sotogrande. The commitment and enthusiasm have been stronger than the difficulties we have been able to face due to the pandemic. And is that the summer would not be the same without the ball rolling on the courts of the Santa Maria Polo Club. We have five weeks ahead of us to celebrate the happy reunion.

La primera medida es el control de aforo, limitado para evitar aglomeraciones. El acceso a las instalaciones permite conocer con precisión el número de espectadores que acuden cada tarde a presenciar los partidos. Se ha diseñado una serie de itinerarios de entrada y salida, así como para moverse con comodidad por el recinto y para facilitar la distancia interpersonal.

The first measure is capacity control, limited to avoid crowding. The access to the facilities allows to precisely know the number of spectators that come every afternoon to watch the matches. A series of entrance and exit routes have been designed, as well as to move around the venue comfortably and to facilitate interpersonal distance.

El Club cuenta con la ventaja de disponer de amplios jardines y zonas al aire libre, lo que facilita el mantener la distancia de seguridad. Las gradas, terrazas y palcos se han acondicionado para que se respete esta norma, sin renunciar a la comodidad.

Tal y como ha decretado la Junta de Andalucía, el uso de la mascarilla será obligatorio en todo momento, excepto para comer y beber. Además, hay dispuesto gel hidroalcohólico en diferentes puntos para un lavado frecuente de las manos, como recomiendan los expertos. Y se realizará una limpieza constante para desinfectar las zonas comunes.

The Club has the advantage of having large gardens and outdoor areas, which makes it easier to maintain a safe distance. The bleachers, terraces and boxes have been conditioned to respect this rule, without sacrificing comfort.

As decreed by the Junta de Andalucía, the use of the mask will always be mandatory, except for eating and drinking. In addition, hydroalcoholic gel is available at different points for frequent hand washing, as recommended by the experts. And there will be constant cleaning to disinfect the common areas.

Como dijo el presidente del Santa María Polo Club, Antonio Ortiz, en la presentación del 49º Torneo Internacional MANSION de Polo, “aunque las circunstancias excepcionales que estamos viviendo influyen en el formato de este año, lo importante es que el Torneo sigue adelante y de nuevo podremos ver polo de alto nivel”. Porque pese a todas las dificultades, el torneo contará con la presencia de importantes equipos con jugadores procedentes de diferentes nacionalidades: Estados Unidos, Argentina, Francia, Suecia o España. Serán más de 30 días de competición que concentrarán la atención mundial.

Y es que el Torneo Internacional MANSION de Polo sigue siendo uno de los mejores del universo polista y el más importante de cuantos se celebran en nuestro país. Los medios especializados informan puntualmente de los resultados para atender el interés que despierta este evento deportivo en los aficionados de múltiples países.

Como cada año el torneo se divide en tres trofeos: la Copa de Bronce Hyundai, la Copa de Plata Isolas 1892 y la Copa de Oro Playtech. En esta ocasión, habrá dos niveles de competición: hándicap de 12-14 goles y hándicap 4-6 goles. Las finales de Bronce tendrán lugar el viernes 31 de julio y el domingo 2 de agosto, mientras que las finales de Plata serán 14 y 15 de agosto, y las de Oro se celebrarán el 29 y 30 de agosto.

El calendario, que puede estar sujeto a cambios, podrá consultarse en la página web www.tip.santamariapoloclub.com. Este año todos los partidos se disputarán en las canchas de Los Pinos, junto al Puerto de Sotogrande.

The International MANSION Polo Tournament continues to be one of the best in the polo world and the most important of all those held in our country. The specialized media report punctually the results to attend the interest that this sport event arouses in the fans of many countries.

As every year, the tournament is divided into three trophies: the Hyundai Bronze Cup, the Isolas Silver Cup 1892 and the Playtech Gold Cup. On this occasion, there will be two levels of competition: 12-14 goal handicap and 4-6 goal handicap. The Bronze finals will take place on Friday 31 July and Sunday 2 August, while the Silver finals will be held on 14 and 15 August, and the Gold finals on 29 and 30 August.

The schedule, which may be subject to change, will be available on the website www.tip.santamariapoloclub.com. This year all games will be played on the courts of Los Pinos, near the Port of Sotogrande.

The gardens of the Santa María Polo Club are transformed every summer into a must see for lovers of fashion and accessories. A variety of brands gather in the Shopping Village to show their new collections to the spectators of the International MANSION Polo Tournament. This year the shopping area has been designed to be more comfortable than ever. The usual shops and stalls have been transformed into open and accessible spaces over the gardens located between courts 3 and 4.

It is in the gardens between courts 2 and 3, next to the food truck area and gastronomic corners. professionals and has all the safety guarantees. For this special edition, the Santa María Polo

Club has planned fun attractions that respect all hygiene measures. The circuit of ‘funny cars’ is one of the proposals of this area so that children do not miss the fun. In addition, the restaurant area is located near the children’s area for a quick snack between games.

Si el año pasado anunciábamos la puesta en marcha del proyecto Santa María Equestrian Club (SMEC), estamos orgullosos de decir que ya es una realidad. Este centro hípico, situado en Puente de Hierro, nacía con vocación de exclusividad, excelencia y servicio, y para poner en valor unas instalaciones que cumplen con las más altas exigencias de calidad.

En noviembre de 2019 el Santa María Equestrian Club acogió su primer Concurso Nacional de Saltos 3* celebrado del 22 al 24. Fueron días de intensa actividad en los que asistieron 120 caballos y 76 jinetes, tanto nacionales como internacionales. El 2020

If last year we announced the launch of the Santa Maria Equestrian Club (SMEC) project, we are proud to say that it is already a reality. This equestrian centre, located in Puente de Hierro, was born with a vocation for exclusivity, excellence, and service, and to enhance facilities that meet the highest standards of quality.

In November 2019, the Santa María Equestrian Club hosted its first National 3* Show Jumping Competition held from 22nd to 24th. These were days of intense activity attended by 120 horses and 76 riders, both national and international. The year 2020 started with exciting projects. On February 7th

Para este verano se ha preparado algo muy especial como complemento perfecto al Torneo Internacional de Polo: el MANSION Summer Series 2020. Esta serie de concursos están demostrando la calidad de las instalaciones del SMEC y su capacidad para acoger y organizar eventos de esta envergadura. Del 16 al 18 de julio se celebró el Concurso Nacional de Saltos 2*, mientras que del 23 al 25 tuvo lugar el Concurso Nacional de Saltos 3*, y antes del final del verano hay dos citas más programadas, del 13 al 15 de agosto con un nuevo Concurso Nacional de Saltos 2* y del 20 al 22 de agosto otro concurso Nacional de Saltos 3*.

Pero hay más, el fin de la temporada 2020 llegará con la celebración del Concurso Nacional de Saltos 3* del 9 al 11 de octubre.

No solo descubrirá al caballo como un espectáculo en sí mismo, sino que además podrá recorrer a lomos de uno de estos magníficos ejemplares algunos de los espacios más bellos de la geografía andaluza.

‘‘Andalucía deja huella’ (footprint) is a project designed by the Regional Ministry of Tourism to promote our universal culture through the Andalusian horse. This ‘footprint’ is heir to an ancient culture and is based on a unique way of living and seeing life. Tourists visiting the region will have extraordinary experiences. Éste estuvo marcado por la igualdad en el Alto Hándicap, que vio a tres equipos diferentes imponerse en las Copas de Oro, Plata y Bronce, así como por el dominio ejercido por Ayala y Rhone Hill en el Mediano y Bajo, respectivamente. / 22 teams participated in the 48th International MANSION Polo Tournament.
