24TH ANNUAL
SO/LIC SYMPOSIUM & EXHIBITION
PROMOTING NATIONAL SECURITY SINCE 1919
“Persistent Engagement in the New Strategic Environment”
SYMPOSIUM THEME The 24th Annual NDIA SO/LIC (Special Operations/Low Intensity Conflict) Symposium & Exhibition will examine how special operations capabilities could be tailored to counter existing and potential National Security challenges. As the U.S. rebalances its strategy to focus on the Asia-Pacific and Middle East areas, it will increase its reliance on the capabilities and capacity of existing allies and partners. This reliance coupled with the strategic direction to employ innovative, low-cost, and small-footprint indirect approaches to prevent conflict make SOF a force of choice for the Combatant Commanders. Speakers will discuss how Special Operations Forces (SOF) can assist in building allied and partner nation capabilities. The Symposium will also explore how SOF is addressing the change in focus from direct to indirect missions and the importance of interagency cooperation in this era of limited resources and fiscal constraints.
