PRAY: Thank you God for helping us to make small contributions that can make big differences in the world. Amen.
THINK: We all strive to make a difference in the world. In these parables, Jesus is teaching us that God can work wonders from even the smallest beginnings of the Kingdom of God. This means that even the little things that we do can make a big difference in the lives of others. What are some of the little things that we can do in our family that help to make things better for others? Decide on one action to take together. Pray that God will use your action to make a dif-ference in the world.
ACT: Set aside some time this week to make bread with your family. Show the amount of yeast that is required to raise an entire batch of bread. Observe that little things can go a long way. After the bread has been baked, gather to-gether as a family. Read together today’s Gospel, Matthew 13:24-43. Reflect together on what Jesus means when he teaches that the Kingdom of Heaven is like a mustard seed and like yeast.

Cell phones, emails, faxes, texts and voice mails can reduce
our lives to a continual series of interrupted moments. Lis-
ten to Jesus in today’s gospel: “you are anxious about many
things” robbing us of the precious time needed to BE with
others. Quality time is QUANTITY time.

Liturgy Notes Like last weekend, today’s Scripture Readings could not be more apropos to our present world. With its complicated situ-ations along with social unrest, health and virus issues, as well as the ongoing and more prevalent incidents of evil and acts of persecution aimed at the Church, trying to over power goodness and truth. As we hear in the Holy Gospel, the situation that was en-countered was distinguishing the “good seed” from the “bad seed”. The “bad” of course, is from the adversary, although, in the beginning it appears to be good, healthy, normal seed producing a somewhat convincing plant. The “good seed” is of God and will grow and flourish in abundance. The “bad seed “ stemming from evil won’t have a chance in the end. Very true of temptations and spiritual blinders that are placed in front of us every day. The hymns today reflect God’s earth, creation, growth, abun-dance, the hop and desire for world wide peace, and finally, the reassurance that God’s love is forever. The music during the Communion, is a text based on today’s Gospel written by contemporary catholic composer Dan Schutte titled “Come With Me into the Fields”.
Vocation Reflections Saint Paul tells us that the Spirit teaches us how to pray. By the light of the Spirit, we can discern between the wheat and weeds in our life and our desire. Ask the Holy Spirit how to lice your voca-tion. If you would like to sow good seeds by be-coming a priest or religious Call Fr. Michael Ca-sey, Vocation Director, Archdiocesan Center at St.
Thomas Seminary, 860-242-5573, email [email protected] or visit the web at www.hartfordpriest.com.
