FNS50215 ‑ DIPLOMA OF ACCOUNTINGThis course equips you with the technical skills and knowledge needed to provide professional financial services and enhance your employability. CQ01 ‑ BACHELOR OF ACCOUNTING The Bachelor of Accounting gives you the opportunity to study a degree recognised by professional accounting bodies throughout Australia and allows you to take advantage of the exciting career opportunities that exist in the modern business environment. As part of this degree, you will complete specialist accounting units, plus a major, or two minors from a choice of business and non-business disciplines. This combination of core units and electives gives you the opportunity to accumulate knowledge wider than accounting. This course is accredited by CPA Australia, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, and meets the associate membership requirements of the Institute of Public Accountants.

CA01 ‑ BACHELOR OF BUSINESSThe Bachelor of Business offers an alternative option for studying accounting. This course is predominantly business and management focused and allows you to choose major in accounting. You will complete a total of 24 units, including eight compulsory business units, eight management units, and eight accounting specialist units.

CQ91 ‑ BACHELOR OF ACCOUNTING/BACHELOR OF BUSINESSStudy the Bachelor of Accounting/Bachelor of Business and get the best of both disciplines. You'll gain in-depth accounting and business knowledge, opening the door to a wide range of career opportunities. The accounting component of this degree is accredited by the three professional accounting associations in Australia. My name is Sarah and I’m studying primary education at CQUniversity.

My dad being a teacher was a big influence on me. He was everyone’s favourite teacher and I feel like I kind of want to be that person.

I looked at a few different unis in high school because I could afford to move away. But I heard that the education course at CQUni was really good, so I decided to come here. And it’s actually really good. Plus, I’m closer to the support of my family.

I think CQUni is better than city campuses because the classes are a lot smaller and you get more one-on-one time with your lecturers. They make an effort to get to know you as a person rather than just thinking of you as a number, which I think happens at a lot of other universities. Most of my lecturers are still teaching at primary school, so it’s good to hear their stories and nice to know that they know what education is like today.

I can’t wait to teach here and overseas. My main motivation is to fill the world with educated young people who are caring and creative.

CL06 ‑ ASSOCIATE DEGREE OF AVIATION (FLIGHT OPERATIONS) The Associate Degree of Aviation (Flight Operations) is part of CQUniversity’s innovative suite of aviation courses and will prepare you for a career as a commercial pilot. You will gain the academic and aeronautical knowledge required to achieve a Commercial Pilot Licence and Command Instrument Rating. In the first year of this two-year degree, you will fly solo in the circuit area of the training aerodrome, and throughout your studies you will learn about unmanned aerial vehicles, the physics of aviation, the fundamentals of computer programming, aviation laws, aerodynamics, aeronautics, meteorology, navigation, flight planning and loading required by a commercial pilot. CL17 – GRADUATE DIPLOMA OF AVIATION (FLIGHT OPERATIONS)CQUniversity’s Graduate Diploma of Aviation (Flight Operations) will provide you with the aeronautical experience required for a career as a commercial pilot. You will build your skills as a pilot, starting with short flights constrained within the aerodrome training area and circuit area, right through to flights at the commercial pilot licence level. Along the way, you will conduct long distance flights, visiting multiple aerodromes in regional and outback Australia. You will develop your critical reflection and self-analysis skills, as well as analytic, communication and presentation skills. This course must be studied concurrently with either CQUniversity’s Bachelor or Associate Degree of Aviation (Flight Operations) in order to obtain the aeronautical knowledge and experience required. Successful completion of your studies will enable you to apply for a Recreational Pilot Licence, Private Pilot Licence, Command Instrument Rating, and Commercial Pilot Licence.

Please note: To apply for this course you must have successfully completed Term 1 of the first year of the Bachelor of Aviation (Flight Operations) or Associate Degree of Aviation (Flight Operations), passed a Class 1 Aviation Medical, passed a Civil Aviation Safety Authority’s Aviation English Language Proficiency Test, hold an Australian Security Identification Card, and have the approval of the Head of Course.

CL09 ‑ BACHELOR OF AVIATION (FLIGHT OPERATIONS) The Bachelor of Aviation (Flight Operations) will prepare you for a career as a professional airline pilot capable of managing a multi-crew environment. The first two years of this degree comprise the course content from the Associate Degree in Aviation (Flight Operations). In your final year, you will build on your knowledge and skills relating to aerodynamics, navigation, meteorology, flight planning and other aeronautical knowledge to bring you to the level required for the Air Transport Pilot Licence. CC42 ‑ BACHELOR OF PSYCHOLOGICAL SCIENCE (HONOURS) This course is suitable if you have completed an accredited three-year course in psychology, such as the Bachelor of Psychological Science at CQUniversity, and wish to complete an accredited fourth year of study to become eligible for provisional registration as a psychologist in Australia. The combination of 24 law units and 12 units of psychology will allow you understand the fundamentals of law while also developing a broad knowledge of psychology. SHB50115 ‑ DIPLOMA OF BEAUTY THERAPYThis is an ideal course for you if you would like to become a beauty therapist, and are interested in gaining the skills and knowledge in a broad range of beauty therapy treatments and services. This includes facial treatments, body massage and treatments, hair removal, lash and brow treatments, and nail and make-up services. You will also develop vital skills to consult with clients to provide beauty advice, recommend beauty treatments and services, and sell retail skin-care and cosmetic products

TAFE QUALIFICATION

SHB20216 ‑ CERTIFICATE II IN SALON ASSISTANT This course provides you with the skills to work as a salon assistant. You will be prepared for communicating in the workplace; interacting with and providing service to clients, and assistance to colleagues. You will work under direct supervision and as part of a hairdressing team. Upon completion, you may choose to progress to the Certificate III in Hairdressing.

SHB30416 ‑ CERTIFICATE III IN HAIRDRESSING If you wish to pursue a career as a hairdresser, this is the course for you. Although usually undertaken as part of an apprenticeship, you can complete this course to fast track your pathway to employment in a hairdressing salon or an apprenticeship. You will develop the skills needed to work as part of a team in a hairdressing salon, as well as how to consult with clients, sell products and services, and design and apply a broad range of technical hairdressing services, including treating, cutting, colouring and styling hair.

TAFE QUALIFICATION

SIT20316 ‑ CERTIFICATE II IN HOSPITALITY Study the Certificate II in Hospitality and learn basic skills and knowledge in a range of activities and functions required in hospitality. Upon completion, you may work in various hospitality settings, such as restaurants, hotels, motels, catering operations, clubs, pubs, cafés and coffee shops using your practical and basic industry knowledge. This course may be completed as part of a traineeship.

SIT20416 ‑ CERTIFICATE II IN KITCHEN OPERATIONSThe Certificate II in Kitchen Operations equips you with skills and knowledge in a range of kitchen functions and activities. Employment opportunities are present in a range of settings such as restaurants, hotels, catering operations, clubs, pubs and cafeterias where food is prepared and served. Study this course and gain basic cookery skills to work as a cook’s assistant, catering assistant, sandwich hand or takeaway cook. If you would like to undertake an apprenticeship in the trade of cookery, and you are seeking a pathway to be a commercial cook, this pre-apprenticeship course could provide you with a pathway to the Certificate III in Commercial Cookery. The Certificate II in Kitchen Operations can also be completed as part of a traineeship.

SIT30816 ‑ CERTIFICATE III IN COMMERCIAL COOKERYThis course provides you with the practical skills and knowledge needed to work as a qualified commercial cook in a commercial kitchen. Upon completion you will be equipped to work as a commercial cook in restaurants, hotels, clubs, pubs, cafés, cafeterias, event catering organisations, airlines, hospitals, student accommodation areas, industry cafeterias and corporate organisations. The knowledge and skills you gain through completion of this course are highly regarded within the national and international hospitality and tourism industries. If you undertake the Certificate III in Commercial Cookery and wish to qualify for a trade certification, the process may take up to three years. If you are employed throughout this time in the industry, you may be able to fast track this process.

CG48 ‑ ASSOCIATE DEGREE IN OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY The Associate Degree in Occupational Health and Safety is designed to create your credentials as an industry paraprofessional with specifically-applied knowledge, attitudes, skills and initiatives in the safety science. This course represents the first two years of the Bachelor of Occupational Health and Safety, and covers the topics of ergonomics and human factors, accident investigation and occupational health, and safety management.
