36 Day One: Vancouver – Dallas Fly American Airlines direct to Dallas where we overnight at the Hyatt Regency located at the DFW International Airport. Day Two: Dallas – San Jose, Costa Rica Meals: B, D Welcome to Costa Rica! Upon arrival at the San Jose International Airport travel to Holiday Inn San Jose Aurola, a 5 star hotel located in downtown San Jose. This is your home for two nights. Todays flight is an early afternoon flight. Day Three: San Jose Meals: B, L Today enjoy an incredible guided walk to immerse yourself in Costa Rica’s natural garden paradise. Visit the La Paz Waterfall Gardens for a leisurely walk on well-maintained trails through the rainforest to see five beautiful cascading waterfalls. The nature guide will point out many forms of plant and animal life along the way and you will pass through several wildlife sanctuaries to see rescued monkeys, birds, and large jungle cats. Visit a trout and frog pond, butterfly conservatory, orchid house and beautiful waterfall. A buffet lunch is served at an award-winning restaurant before being driven back to the hotel. Day Four: San Jose – Tortuguero Meals: B, D Travel to Tortuguero by coach and boat. Tortuguero is home to numerous species of wildlife and a primary nesting area for Atlantic Green Sea Turtles. Enjoy two nights at the Pachira Lodge. Set in the wilds of Tortuguero, Costa Rica; Pachira Lodge offers a true wilderness and eco-lodge experience. Day Six: Tortuguero Meals: B, L, D This morning a boat tour follows canals carved through the dense rainforest within the national park, one of the best places in Costa Rica to go birding and see a diversity of wildlife. You will go on a two hour riverboat ride by covered pontoon boat through the jungle-lined canals. Your boat captain and bilingual guide will point out all the visible forest- dwelling animals, plants, and birdlife that live within this unique water and woodland. The balance of the day is to relax at the peaceful pools of the resort and enjoy the lovely grounds. Day Nine: Arenal – Flamingo-Conchal Area Meals: B, DTravel by coach to the Flamingo-Conchal area which is home to beautiful palm studded beaches. During your visit enjoy a two night stay at Flamingo Beach Resort & Spa. Escape to the golden sands of Playa Flamingo at the resort. Day Ten: Flamingo-Conchal Area Meals: B, L, DToday is a sailing adventure aboard a beautiful 46-foot catamaran called Panache. Cruise for approximately an hour before dropping anchor at a deserted beach where you can enjoy a variety of recreational activities. These include guided snorkeling, beachcombing, or just sunning yourself on the spacious deck. You will be offered snacks and tropical drinks, including alcohol, throughout the tour, and a delicious buffet.

Day Eleven: Flamingo-Conchal – Monteverde Meals: B, DTravel to Monteverde which is located in the cloud forests of the continental divide. During your visit you will stay two nights at the El Establo Mountain Hotel. Discover the wonders of the cloud forest at this amazing resort. The Guided Hanging Bridges, Butterfly & Hummingbird Gallery tour is an amazing way to explore the cloud forest! The Hanging Bridges offers an incredible glimpse into the canopy of the cloud forest! The walk includes three kilometres of terrestrial trails and eight bridges through the tree tops allowing you to view the forest from all perspectives. After walking through the forest, visit Butterfly Garden and the Hummingbird Gallery, which are home to various intriguing species of endangered or endemic butterflies and hummingbirds.

Day Twelve: Monteverde – San Jose Meals: B, DTravel back to San Jose. Along the way we stop at a working farm. This is an opportunity to experience the daily routine of a Costa Rican working farm as it processes raw materials for market. Enjoy a guided tour of how coffee and sugar is produced in a traditional way from a small family farm to export.

Day Thirteen: San Jose – Vancouver Meals: BAll good things must come to an end, though memories last a lifetime. Transportation will be provided back to San Jose International Airport for your return flight.
