Step one Get yourself a tea and biscuit, because this shouldn’t feel like work.

Step two Create a business profile. Make sure you choose a clear profile pic, write a detailed description and set your location. You can also verify your website, add the Pin-it button to your site and implement Rich Pins.

Step three Set up boards to organise your Pins. Give them clear titles and descriptions so they get found in organic search.

Step four Add and save Pins. Make the most of the length of the Pin with your image and add detailed positive descriptions including keywords to search against. Text overlays give people a clear takeaway at a glance. Lists, instructions and ‘how-tos’ all work really well on Pinterest.

Step five Check your analytics. See how many people are saving your content, who those people are and which boards they’re saving it to.

Step six If you want to promote your Pins, here’s how to get going. Create your campaign, select your currency, goals, creative, target audience, keywords and then bid.
