REGISTRATION NOTES1. Your registration will only be confirmed upon receiving your
payment. An official receipt will be sent to you within 10 working days upon receiving your payment.
2. The organizing committee regrets that registration received after 22 Feburary 2016 might not receive their conference collaterals.
CANCELLATION POLICY1. Request for cancellation/replacement must be made in writing to the
Conference Secretariat, latest by 22 Feburary 2016. The organising committee regrets that requests received after this date will not be entertained.
2. Please take note that refunds (less 10% for administrative charges) will be issued after the event.

ABSTRACT GUIDEThe 5th HQSS Healthcare Quality Forum 2016 invites abstracts for poster or oral presentations. The top
abstracts submitted will qualify for the Free Paper Oral while the others, upon acceptance, will be put up
for poster presentation.
Closing DateAll abstracts must be submitted by 31 December 2015. Abstracts submitted after the deadline will not
be considered.
Rules for Submission1. All abstracts must be submitted using the Abstract Submission Form, which can be downloaded from
the event website. All completed abstracts are to be emailed to our Secretariat (secretariat@hqss.
org). Alternatively, you may save the form in a CD and, together with the hardcopy, send them to our
Conference Secretariat.
2. We regret that faxed abstracts will not be accepted.
3. All accepted abstracts may be included in the HQSS Healthcare Quality Forum 2016 Programme Booklet
and website. Therefore, submission of abstracts constitutes the authors’ consent for publication of
abstracts.
4. Please ensure the correctness of your abstract as it will be published as submitted; i.e. any error
appearing in the submitted abstract will appear in the published book or website.
5. All presenting authors must register for the conference.
Abstract Format1. Font: Times New Roman, regular, only
2. Size: 10 points only
3. Single space and justify the text
4. Limit the content to 300 words
5. Do not include any pictures and references in the abstract
6. The content of the abstract is to be organized as follow:
• Title: Describe the project and mention the people involved in the work
• Background/Aim: Inform about the aim and objectives of the research
• Methods: Explain the basis of the techniques which were used
• Results: Describe the main results showing illustrative examples of the main results
• Summary and Conclusions: List the main findings of your investigations.
Submission and notification1. All abstracts submitted will be acknowledged through email within 3 working days upon receipt. Please
contact the Secretariat if you do not receive the acknowledgement email.
2. All abstracts will be evaluated against Originality, Study Design, Study Quality, Statistical Methods, Ethical
Issues, Content and Importance/Relevance.
3. The Judges decisions are final.
4. The organising committee reserves the right to make changes to all oral and poster presentation schedules.
5. Presenting authors will receive an email notification on abstract acceptance or rejection by 3 Feb 2016.

POSTER CONTENT AND LAYOUTYour poster should contain the followings:
• Title; describing the project and mentioning the people involved in the work
• Background/Aim; informing about the aim and objectives of the research
• Methods section; explaining the basis of the techniques which were used
• Results section; showing illustrative examples of the main results
• Summary and Conclusions; listing the main findings of your investigations
The poster layout should be easy for viewer to follow. It should be read from left to right and from top to
bottom. You may choose to number the individual panels or using arrows to assist viewers to follow through
your poster. An example is as shown below:
ADDITIONAL GUIDES1. Simple and Concise
Make full use of the space. Do not overfill the page as it will appear unattractive and difficult to read.
Use only pertinent information to convey your message, presenting only those that illustrate the main
findings of the project when showing results
2. ReadabilityTo accommodate a group of people reading a single poster, the size of the lettering must be large
enough to be legible at a distance of approximately 1.5 to 2 m.
• The minimum font size for your text should be at least 20 pt and approx. 70 pt for your title.
• Ensure good contrast for your background and text
Do not use all upper case in your posters as it makes your material difficult to read
3. Use PicturePresent numerical data in the form of graphs, rather than tables.
