What is proposed?A total of 16 pitches comprising• Site ‘A’ – PUBLIC GTA site – Twelve pitches
(southern part of the site)• Site ‘B’ – PRIVATE GTA site - Four pitches
(northern part of the site)
Minimal permanent buildings (single storey with pitched roof - brick and tile)• Site ‘A’ only - Site manager’s office - Amenity blocks/storage sheds on each pitch
Operational development• Sites ‘A’ and ‘B’ – Hard standing for static and mobile caravans and car parking on each pitch
Vehicular access • Site ‘A’ - Creation of a new vehicular access with visibility splays from Old Hollow following closure of the existing access, • Site ‘B’ - Main existing access from Copthorne Road altered to increase width and provide visibilty splays
Foul drainage• Site ‘A’ – a single Package Treatment Plant (PCP) serving 12 pitches with single outfall to ditch• Site ‘B’ – individual PCP’s with single outfall to ditch
Surface water drainage• Combination of permeable paving, with an underlying porous open graded subbase, to store storm water onsite before discharging at a restricted rate into an adjacent watercourse
Amenity space• All pitches to have a private area of amenity space within attractive woodland setting • Open space that can be used for children’s play on site ‘A’
Tree planting / Landscaping / Biodiversity• Tree planting and landscaping within the existing Old Hollow access to be closed up• Soft landscaping around the site• Implementation of ecologists’ recommendations including bird and bat boxes
Acoustic fence / Boundary treatments• Two metre acoustic fence around the northern, part western rear boundaries of the pitches on Site ‘A’ and the along the shared boundary between Sites ‘A’ and ‘B’
How will the development be provided?The Corporate Estates & Facilities Business Unit, Mid Sussex District Council will submit a joint application for planning permission with the current land owner. The Corporate Estates & Facilities Business Unit has an agreement with the land owner to purchase the land comprising Site A.
The Corporate Estates & Facilities Business Unit will engage contractors to undertake site preparation works on Site ‘A’ including contamination remediation; treatment of Japanese Knotweed and equisetum; and subsequently carry out the public GTA development.

Ecological requirements/considerations:

- scalloped edge (beneficial to reptiles);- locally sourced native trees, shrubs and insect attracting plants;
�- creation of brash and log piles (beneficial for invertebrates, hedgehogs, reptiles and amphibians.
Install four bird boxes (for blue tits/woodpeckers) on mature trees
surrounding the site.
Install two bat roosting boxes on mature trees along southern and
eastern boundary of the site.
2 m high timber fence

These sizes were used to determine the size of the plots.
