I. BACKGROUND and RATIONALE

Earthquake is one of the famous disasters that caused people died or injured. It cannot bedetected when and where it would be happened to anyone. This is mostly happened in places wherepeople are hanging around and working. Earthquake is understood by being a natural phenomenoncaused by the constant movements of the earths crustal plates and due to climate changetoo.

Month of March was considered also as ire !revention Month. "e e#perienced avery hot climate in this month. Municipality of $ebak was declared to be under the stateof calamity due to drought. In our %arangay there were two houses that were turned intoashes because of &re in the previous year. These houses were '(( meters located awayfrom !ansud Elementary )chool. Thus* one of the ha+ards that we consider is &re.

!ursuant to ,epEd -rder o. /0* s. '(1'* all public and private schools* and ,epEdo2ces and attached agencies are enjoined to undertake the Quarterly Conduct of theNational chool!Ba"ed Earth#ua$e and %ire Drill". 3s mandated by said order!ansud Elementary )chool conducted quarterly Earthquake and ire ,rills. It is aimed toensure the safety of pupils* teachers* parents and sta4 during at the onset of thesedisasters. The disaster management mechanism also seeks to help school administratorsand the disaster action groups to design a speci&c response plan of the school forearthquakes.

II. OB&ECTI'E

a. To enhance pupils and teachers knowledge on how to practice proper actionbefore* during and after earthquake and &re.

b. To train teachers and pupils on how to use &re e#tinguisher to &re out theburning objects.

c. To ensure the safety of pupils and teachers after ha+ard like &re andearthquake.

'I. RECO))ENDTION,

3s a )chool ,;;M 9oordinator* I would like to recommend thatteachers adviser should include disaster awareness in their classes so thatpupils will know the importance of the earthquake and &re drill. I would likealso to suggest that %arangay ,;;M 9ouncil should join or support theschool ,;;M programs in order to spread the information about disastermore e4ectively in the community.

'II. NE0T TE(,

)ince* we conducted quarterly &re and earthquake drill* we would like toupgrade our pupils knowledge on how to rescue and give &rst aid to the victimsof disaster. The school is setting up to top knowledgeable person about rescueand &rst aid to train pupils how to handle a certain scenario. "e will top also our%arangay and local government to join our program.
