3901 at Marigold is an urban loft-style space that can accommodate 80 guests for a seated event and approximately 150 guests for a cocktail-style event. The space boasts large paintings hand drawn by a local Cleveland artist, and the room is styled with brick and wood. It features a built-in stage and bar and offers accommodations for AV with access to a screen and lighting. The space is air-conditioned, comes with 60-inch tables and chiavari chairs, 8- and 6-foot rectangular tables and high tops. Founded in May 1867, the Western Reserve Historical Society is Clevelands oldest existing cultural institution. It was established as the historical branch of the Cleveland Library Association which dates from 1848. The Societys creation was part of an important trend in the United States, the establishment of private organizations to oversee the collection and preservation of documents and objects relating to various aspects of national, regional and local history. While its original focus was on the history of Cleveland and the Western Reserve, it now concentrates on the history of Northeast Ohio. The Cleveland Public Librarys Main Library complex is the central library facility in our system. The historic Main Library Building was designed and built as part of Daniel Burnhams Group Plan of 1903. This downtown campus offers a variety of spaces and venues: the neo-Classical elegance of the Main Building (completed in 1925), bright modern spaces in the Louis Stokes Wing (1997) and the urban oasis of the Eastman Reading Garden between the two buildings. Beautiful public artworks and sculptures abound, including the whimsical garden gates designed by Tom Otterness, fountain designed by Maya Lin, architectural and pictorial artworks and sweeping WPA-era murals. The Sarah Benedict House is the home of the Cleveland Restoration Society. It is a beautifully restored 1883 mansion that was close to Clevelands Millionaires Row. The 1st floor is ideal for meetings, receptions and seated dinners, featuring wood paneling, hand stenciled wall decorations and appropriate furnishings. There are four adjoining rooms, kitchen and two restrooms. The house has a magnificent outdoor patio and garden space. Plants and flowers from a typical 1880s garden are combined with elements of contemporary art. The granite paved upper level is set off from the grassy lawn below by a stone fireplace fountain, where jets of water mimic flames and cascade down a stone staircase. An ornamental iron fence and trellis enclosure create the feeling of an outdoor room.
