    Träffa Skogens Konung i hans rike

    Djurens Rike är en av Smålands finaste djurparker och den erbjuder besökare en unik upplevelse. Parken täcker ett område på många kilometer och en ’älg garanti’ ingår i varje besök. Älgen, eller ’Skogens Konung’ som han kallas, är huvudattraktionen och besökare färdas runt parken i ett eldrivet tåg. Det är en unik chans att se älgar och många andra skandinaviska djur i deras naturliga miljö. Det finns inga rovdjur i parken och djuren lever i harmoni och är vana vid safaritågen som tyst rullar förbi deras revir och utfodringsplatser. Missa inte parkens ekologiska odlingar där skandinaviska bär, svampar, träd och vilda blommor växer och frodas. Avsluta gärna safarin med ett stop vid parkens restaurang. Här serveras vegetariska versioner av traditionella rätter med ingredienser från parken. Det finns ett stort urval av rätter som både besökare och Skogens Konung uppskattar. Vi rekommenderar parkens läckra vegetariska köttbullar med lingonsylt eller den utsökta kantarellstuvningen.

    Veckans bokrecension

    Solen går ner i Öster

    Christina Fromells debutroman Solen går ner i Öster kom ut på hyllorna igår och det kommer att bli intressant att följa Christinas övergång från välkänd journalist till författare.

    Det är en välskriven bok. Fromell använder en tydlig och verklighetstrogen stil. Dialogerna i boken följer karaktärernas bakgrund och då boken utspelar sig i västra och norra Sverige får läsarna sig en riktig upplevelse när västkustens och norrländskans dialekter dansar över sidorna. Författarinnan går dock lite väl långt med denna stil när hon blandar språk och låter dialogen mellan två ryska karaktärer vara helt på ryska. Verklighetstroget kanske men avtrubbande för oss läsare.

    Handlingen i boken kretsar kring en kvinnlig polis som tar sig an ett komplicerat fall med anknytning till hennes egen bakgrund. Huvudpersonen är kluven mellan sitt förflutna barndomsliv i Östeuropa och sitt vuxna liv i Sverige. Christina Fromells bakgrund som journalist kommer väl till nytta och händelseförloppet anknyter ofta till kända händelser i Sverige under 2000-talet.

    Trots bokens eleganta och verklighetstrogna stil så hämmas den av att handlingen liknar andra nordiska deckare och emellanåt känns lite förutsägbar. Jag tycker inte heller om att karaktärerna ofta använder våld som lösning på konflikter. Berättelsens explosiva slut knyter effektivt ihop historien men är samtidigt ett lite väl enkelt och tråkigt sätt att avsluta en bok.

    Christina Fromell har en ljus framtid som författare om hon tror på sin talang och antar utmaningen att ta fram originella idéer som hon klär upp med sin intelligenta och fyndiga stil.
