Hands-on diesel equipment technology contest:
Josue Salazar - 2nd State. Received a $5000 scholarship
and a set of snap on screwdriver's.
The automotive engines technical information contest:
Alberto Yanez - 1st StateAutomotive project notebooks:
Weston Weathers - 1st, four wheel brake job
Alberto Yanez - 1st, maintenance oil and filter change
Josue Salazar - 1st, transmission service job
Carlos Garcia Campos - 2nd, four wheel alignment
Computer Science
Thomas Schwalen, Tanner Davis, and Austin Carter
received third place in Interactive Application and Video

2nd in the photography contest and also earned a blue

Architectural and Engineering
•Russell Oplinger was recognized for his two-story
modern home design in the Architectural Design category.
•Mariah Guerrero was honored for her Arbor Press in the
Technical Design category. Mariah also won "Best of
Show" for this design at the District contest.
•Reed Osburn finished only two points behind the high
score in Technical Design for his Geneva Project.

BHS AGRICULTURE PROGRAM

The FFA poultry judging team competed at Stephen F.Austin State University and placed 3rd out of 61 teams.
Harper Langston placed 2nd overall at the Brazos CountyYouth Livestock Show.
Garrett Browningwon 5th place for his22’ trailer at theHouston Livestock
Show and Rodeo.
Sydney Borskieearned 2nd placeoverall forpublic speakingat the HoustonLivestock Showand Rodeo.
Wilsey Wendler earned 4th out of 130for her commercial steer project at theHouston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
Christina Vinson won1st place for her floraldesign project at theHouston LivestockShow and Rodeo.

VIKING THEATRE - ONE ACT PLAY PERFORMANCE

BHS One Act Play at the district UIL event.
Haven Pottinger was named to the all-star ca
and Abigail Murray was named honorable
mention all-star cast. The play received the
alternate spot for the meet.
BHS ART STUDENTS SHINE AT EVENTS
Senior Joan Fackler’s digital artpiece was selected by Texas FirstLady, Cecilia Abbott, as 1 of 10pieces to be in the Governor’sGallery Exhibit that will hang inthe State Capitol for the upcomingyear.
Superintendent Dr. Tommy Wallistalks with senior Lauren Bernalabout her art work during theBISD Art Fest event held at BHS.
Jorge Perez earned 2nd place atthe American ConservationHeritage competition for his artwork.

KEY CLUB
STUCK FOR BUCKS212˚ AWARD
Key Club raised money for the Leukemia andLymphoma Society through several fundraisers
including Stuck for Bucks. Through all the projecthey raised over $4000 and Mr. Medlock’s clas
earned the right to tape him to the wall.
Dr. Tommy Wallis presented Lester Banks with the212˚ award for his hard work and dedication.
Everything Mr. Banks does is for the students. Heis a model of what it means to be a Viking.
Viking Indoor Percussion earned the bronze medalfor their class at the State Championship.
Bryan Color Guard earned the Scholastic National ABronze Medal during the Texas Color Guard Circuit Finals.

The golf team finished 4th at the district tournament. James Florian and NickReynolds were both named to 2nd team all-district. Nick also advanced to region.

Sage placed 5th and lifted290 lbs. - squat, 160 lbs. -bench, 350 lbs. - deadlift fora total of 800 lbs. Senior Jared Spivey placed4th at region and lifted 650lbs. - squat, 380 lbs. - bench,520 lbs. - deadlift for a totalof 1550 lbs. At state he
