Energy conservation, wealth opportunity, LGBTQ rights, global warming, national security, immigration, animal rights, voter suppression, and privacy are some of the challenges facing us today. Over 140 members from the Boston Printmakers, working in a variety of techniques and styles, will tackle these issues in 2016, A State of Mind.

Boston Printmakers, a nonprofit organization founded in 1947, supports innovation and excellence in printmaking. The mission of this volunteer organization is to promote public knowledge, understanding, and support for printmaking, encourage and support artists working in printmaking, promote excellence Ellen Singer, Migrants, 2016, Woodcut

in printmaking, and support innovation within the field of printmaking.

This organization was founded in Boston by a group of students and faculty at the Boston Museum School and the Massachusetts College of Art. It is now an international organization with members from around the world – in 2016, A State of Mind you will see works by artists who live as close as North Hampton, NH and as far as Guanabo, Cuba.

In addition to supporting artists from around the globe, this organization promotes printmakers from all spectrums

of the craft – from traditional craftspeople to those creating experimental mixed media prints, and working with digital images.
