Angie Lewin Showcase16 November – 3 January
Edinburgh Printmakers presents a showcase of framed prints by artist and printmaker Angie Lewin. Her illustrative work depicts landscapes and still lifes through wood engravings, linocuts, silkscreens and lithographs. These landscapes are often glimpsed through intricately detailed, graphic plant forms. Her still lifes often incorporate seedpods, grasses, flints and dried seaweed collected on walking and sketching trips.
Born in Cheshire, Angie Lewin studied Fine Art Printmaking at Central St. Martins College of Art and Design followed by a postgraduate year at
Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts. After working as an illustrator she went on to study horticulture and garden design. She has her studio at Edin-burgh Printmakers.
In 2006 Angie was elected to The Royal Society of Painter Printmakers and in 2008 to The Society of Wood Engravers. In 2010 she was elected to The Art Workers Guild and in 2016 she was elected to The Royal Watercolour Society.
