Are you looking to hire a car in Europe for an extended period of time? Then consider a brand new car from Citroën, one of Europe’s biggest car manufacturers, through Citroën DriveEurope.

You will receive a brand new car straight from the Citroën factory at the designated delivery location, registered in your name as a non-resident of Europe and it is yours to drive away on your European holiday. The car is assigned special registration plates under the Tourist Transit or TT scheme and is exempt of all taxes. It is a temporary ownership scheme with a guaranteed buy back arrangement from Citroën and at the end of your car requirements you return the car to Citroën.

The minimum contract period is 21 days and the maximum is 175* if picking up in Paris and 165 days if picking up outside of Paris or in Europe. All vehicles come with full vehicle insurance, unlimited kilometres and you can pick up and return the car from one of many locations in France or from many major cities and airports in Europe for an additional fee.

Portuguese Authorities (Customs) require all customers driving a tax-free Citroën vehicle in Portugal (whether collected in Portugal, or not) to be able to prove that they are not spending more than 90 days in Portugal. This means that you must obtain a GUIA DE CIRCULACAO document on border entry or at a customs office at a major airport or city within Portugal. We recommend that the person named on the order form/contract obtains the GUIA DE CIRCULACAO prior to driving in Portugal. There is a small charge for this document.

The TT scheme has been operating successfully in Europe for many years and it is fully endorsed by French Authorities.

TO QUALIFYYou must reside outside of the European Union and you cannot receive any income from EU revenue producing activities. You must also plan to return to your residence outside of the EU at the end of your stay.

WHAT IF I WANT TO EXTEND MY LEASE WHILE IN EUROPE?While travelling you can arrange an extension of the order/form contract period by contacting Citroën Champ De Mars, 115 avenue de l’Arche 92402 Courbevoie, Telephone +33 1 56 47 61 61. Please note you must contact Citroën 10 days prior to the original drop-off date on your contract.

1 Select your vehicle, accessories, pick-up and return locations.

2 Make your booking with a deposit of $500. All bookings should be received at least 6 weeks prior to the intended pick-up date. In some cases, bookings can be made at shorter notice depending on vehicle availability and the pick-up location.

3 On receipt of your booking request and deposit, an invoice for the balance and an order form/contract will be forwarded to you. Complete and sign the order form/contract, make final payment arrangements for the balance and return the order form/contract to your Agent or Citroën at least 6 weeks prior to your departure from Australia with a legible copy of your passport and driver’s licence.

4 A copy of the order form/contract will be forwarded to you with a letter of confirmation (including all pick-up and drop-off instructions and telephone numbers). We will despatch the remainder of the order form/contract to France in order to register your Citroën.

5 Please note changes to your car type and pick-up location cannot be made within 4 weeks of the commencement of your booking.

than 6 months and are not in receipt of income from EU revenue producing activities and plan to return to their residence outside the EU at the end of their stay.

2. Full time students attending Colleges and Universities in France can lease a vehicle from 90 days to a maximum of 355 non-renewable days.

AGE:The minimum age to lease a Citroën under this program is 21 years and must have held a valid full driver’s licence for 12 months. There is no upper age limit to lease a vehicle in this program. In circumstances where authorised, a rental car from a rental car company cannot be provided to any customer under the age of 21.

WHO CAN DRIVE THE VEHICLE:• The contract holder (whose name features on the vehicle registration

certificate), his/her spouse and his/her direct descendants and ascendants if they meet all of the same conditions for obtaining temporary registration for transit as required by the titleholder.

• All additional drivers must meet all of the same qualifications and conditions as the contract holder has done to qualify for temporary registration of the Citroën vehicle to be able to drive the Citroën vehicle.

• Additional drivers (except the spouse) may only drive the vehicle locally and cannot drive across country borders without the main driver. The spouse can cross country borders, even if the contract holder is not inside.

• Other drivers (not descendants or ascendants) can only drive the car if the driver is inside the vehicle and unable to drive due to emergencies or exceptional circumstances.

SAFETY KIT:Customers picking up vehicles from or driving in France and some other EU countries are legally required to have a reflective jacket and breakdown triangle in the vehicle at all times. For all vehicles delivered in France the required reflective jacket and breakdown triangle is provided by Citroën.

BREATH ANALYSER REQUIRED:The French government announced that the implementation of the sanction for drivers not carrying a breathalyser – a fine of €11 – has been postponed indefinitely. So theoretically you are still required to carry a self-test breathalyser when driving in France but there is no current legislation demanding a fine for non-compliance. The original official announcement stated that one unused, certified breathalyser must be produced showing the French certification mark NF. Carrying two single-use breathalysers will ensure that if one is used or damaged, you will still have a spare to produce. The breathalyser produced has to be in date – single-use breathalysers normally have a validity of twelve months.

DRIVER’S LICENCE:All drivers must hold a full valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record for a minimum of one year. A learner or provisional driver’s licence is not acceptable.

INTERNATIONAL DRIVING PERMITS:A valid international driving permit is required for by all drivers for this program.

DRIVING IN EUROPE:It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that they are aware of the driving requirements in different European countries.

TRAVEL INSURANCE:Travel insurance is the responsibility of the customer. We strongly recommend customers contact a travel agent or an insurance company to obtain travel insurance.

DRIVE SIDE:All Citroën vehicles are LEFT HAND Drive.

SECURITY:As a condition of providing a vehicle under the Citroën DriveEurope/Europass program and as their security measure, Citroën requires that you provide credit card details on the order form/contract. Payments made by Mastercard/Visa will incur a fee of 1.5% on top of the total fee.

RESERVATION DEPOSIT:A non-refundable deposit of $500 is required at the time of making your reservation.

FINAL PAYMENT:Final payment for your reservation, including the return of your Citroën order form/contract and personal documents, should be made 6 weeks prior to the date of pick-up in Europe and prior to your departure from Australia. If Visa or Mastercard are used this will incur a fee of 1.5% on top of total fee. Delays in picking up your vehicle could result should the final payment and documents not be received within 6 weeks, or the reservation may be cancelled. Only Visa, Mastercard, cheque or direct deposit are accepted for payment.

CANCELLATION FEES:For booking cancellations 4 weeks prior to vehicle delivery date in Europe and the vehicle has been registered, a booking cancellation fee of $1300.00 will apply.

AMENDMENTS :Amendments to bookings must be made 4 weeks prior to the date of collection in Europe. An amendment fee of $80 will apply. No changes can be made to the vehicle type or pick up location 4 weeks prior to the collection date.

ADDITIONAL COSTS:Vehicles are delivered to you with 15 litres of petrol or 10 litres of diesel fuel, however a tank of fuel can be purchased at the time that your vehicle is ordered and available for you when you pick up your car. Tolls, motorways and vehicle parking costs are not included.It is important that you return all the keys, safety kit, transponder card, insurance and registration papers. A charge of up to 650 Euro will apply to the order form/contract holders at the time of the vehicle return if these items are not returned with the vehicle.

CITROËN DRIVEEUROPE/EUROPASS BOOKING TERMS AND CONDITIONS – CONTINUEDSERVICE COSTS:The regularly scheduled servicing requirements for Citroën vehicles are at the contract holder’s expense. At the time of collection, you will be provided with a document that outlines the regular scheduled service requirements for your attention and implementation at an Authorized Citroën Dealer.

TYRES:With the exception of the Berlingo Grip Selection vehicle available for delivery from November 2015, all other vehicles are supplied with standard tyres. Winter tyres are not available from Citroën. If winter tyres are fitted by the customer during the contract period, they must be removed and fitted with the standard tyres that were originally supplied with the vehicle, otherwise the contract holder will be invoiced for the cost of the standard tyres.Tyre punctures and tyre and wheel damage or vandalism of any kind are at the contract holder’s expense.Note: Standard tyres may not be suitable for winter road conditions and extreme weather in various countries throughout Europe. For safety reasons, it is the responsibility of the contract holder to ensure that their car suits the road, weather conditions and the legal requirements for road safety throughout the countries where the car will be driven during the term of the contract.

VEHICLE ACCESSORIES:Accessories ordered by the customer with the vehicle are actually privately purchased by the customer and are not eligible for refund or buy-back on return of vehicle.

CHILD SEATS/RESTRAINTS:Regulations and seat fittings in Europe for child seats and restraints differ from those in Australia. The European regulation and mounting system is known as ISOFIX and the child seats in Australia do not have ISOFIX mountings on them and will therefore not be acceptable for the European regulations and vehicles. A variety of child seats are available for purchase from Citroën.

PICK-UP AND DROP-OFF COSTS:Pick-up and drop-off of Citroën vehicles are free of charge within France. Charges are applicable to pick-up and drop-off of vehicles in other European cities. These costs are pre-paid.

OPENING HOURS:Please check with Citroën to confirm the opening hours of pick-up and drop-off locations. Some locations require appointments up to 4 days in advance.Note: Staff at the delivery centres will wait for you for approximately 30 minutes after the scheduled time (see the delivery centre slip delivered by your agent). If you change your flight schedule or your appointment, you must call the delivery centre and CITROËN Champ De Mars at least 72 hours prior to the scheduled time.

PICK-UP OF VEHICLE:When ready to pick-up your Citroën vehicle you must have your valid passport, a full and valid driver’s licence, an international Driver’s licence, and the copy of the order form/contract to present to the Citroën staff. Note that vehicles are delivered with 15 litres of petrol or 10 litres of diesel fuel. An optional full tank of fuel can be purchased at the time of booking.

USEFUL PRECAUTIONS:Do not leave any documents in the vehicle such as:• Insurance grey card• The international insurance vehicle card• The original key, the spare key• The code card, any document relevant to the car

ORDER FORM/CONTRACT EXTENSION:While travelling you can arrange an extension of the order form/contract by contacting Citroën Champ De Mars, 115 avenue de l’Arche 92402 Courbevoie, France, Telephone +33 1 56 47 61 61. A request for an order form/contract extension should be made 10 days prior to the expiration date of the original order form/contract with payment reaching Citroën Champ De Mars 5 days before the expiration date of the original order form/contract. It is necessary to advise Citroën Champ De Mars of a location to which extension insurance documents can be sent to you. If the extension payment is not made, the vehicle will only be insured for the initial order form/contract period and the uninsured order form/contract holder will bear all civil, material and criminal liability for any incidents that may occur. No refunds are applicable to extension contracts. Extensions are calculated on a daily rate according to Citroën Champ De Mars extension pricing, which is a higher daily rate than the published daily rate on the Citroën DriveEurope/Europass price list. Costs for contract extension can be found at: www.citroendriveeurope.com.auNote: The new insurance certificate corresponding to the contract extension will be delivered only after the receipt of the payment. Without any payment, and phone call to CITROËN CHAMP DE MARS the customer will bear all civil, material and criminal liability for any incidents that might occur.

DROP-OFF OF VEHICLE:All Citroën vehicles must be returned to the destination listed on the customer’s Citroën Champ De Mars order form/contract and letter of confirmation or the Booking Agent confirmation. If delivered to another location additional charges will apply to the customer or the booking agent. It is important to contact your return destination by telephone up to 4 days in advance to advise of the return of

the vehicle. The telephone number of your return destination is provided in your Citroën letter of confirmation.

USEFUL PRECAUTIONS WHEN DROPPING OFF A VEHICLE:Please keep in mind the following:• All vehicles must be returned with the same type of standard tyres fitted that

were originally supplied with the vehicle at the time the vehicle was picked up, otherwise the contract holder will be invoiced for the cost of the standard tyres.

• Any accessories purchased and fitted by the contract holder are not eligible for refund or buy-back on return of the vehicle.

• It is important that you return all the keys, safety kit, transponder card, insurance and registration papers. A charge of up to 650 Euro will apply to the order form/contract holders at the time of the vehicle return if these items are not returned with the vehicle.

COST OF VEHICLE ABANDONMENT:A Citroën vehicle is considered abandoned when it is left anywhere other than a return site approved by Citroën Champ de Mars, a list of which is provided in the customer pack. If the vehicle is abandoned in the same town as the return centre originally planned, the customer will be invoiced for the actual costs incurred for its transport and additional costs (car parking, storage, etc) established by Citroën Champ de Mars. In addition to these costs, if the vehicle is abandoned anywhere other than in the same town as the original return centre, the customer will pay a fixed penalty of $600 if the vehicle is found in France and $800 if the vehicle if found abroad.

REFUNDS FOR EARLY RETURNS:A refund of unused days after collection is possible but is subject to fees and charges, plus agency fees that may vary from agent to agent. Early returns must be made 7 days before the contract expires for a refund to be considered. A minimum of 31 days is charged before a refund is considered. No refund will be made for contracts that have been running for less than 31 days. Additionally the “transfer of the ownership certificate” must be completed, signed and returned to Citroën before a refund is available. For students, early returns must occur 30 days before the contract end date to enable a refund. No refund for agent’s “special promotions or offers” regardless of duration. No refunds are applicable to extension contracts. Please forward your request to Citroën or your agent. A fee of 16% on the difference between the initial value of the contract (including any promotions or discounts) and the new contract value, plus an administration fee of $80 plus any travel agent fees is charged for early returns. Travel insurance is recommended.

CONSUMER CLAIMS:All consumer claims must be lodged in writing within 14 days of the return of the Citroën vehicle. Claims will only be considered upon presentation of ORIGINAL INVOICES AND RECEIPTS. Duplicates and photocopies will not be accepted when making a claim. ONLY THE GENERAL MANAGER, CITROËN CHAMP DE MARS IN PARIS CAN AUTHORISE CONSUMER CLAIMS IN EUROPE. VERBAL OR WRITTEN ADVICE FROM ANYONE OTHER THAN THE GENERAL MANAGER, CITROËN CHAMP DE MARS ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR ANY CLAIM.

However, it cannot claim to provide a full and complete solution for all types of incidents, nor can it provide a guarantee against the need to change your plans. VEHICLE INSURANCE:The insurance document for the Citroën vehicle will be issued at the time of pick-up of the vehicle. The vehicle is insured by a comprehensive insurance policy. This insurance is valid in countries as listed at www.citroendriveeurope.com.au. Please note that due to local conditions in Europe, insurance coverage for some countries is subject to change. It is important that you check with Citroën to ensure the insurance is valid for your destinations. Customers who travel in a country where the insurance is not valid do so at their own risk and shall assume full responsibility for any incidents during the course of their travels in those countries.

NOT COVERED BY INSURANCE:Not covered by insurance are punctured or damaged wheels and tyres, loss or non-return of the vehicle keys, safety kit (where supplied free of charge), transponder key card, registration and insurance papers, personal belongings, failures from lack of fuel, incorrect fuel in fuel tank, vehicle off road or any other problem following the loss of keys or failure to remember the confidential codes or locking keys in the car, using roads unsuitable for motor vehicles or encountering difficulties on these roads, failure to respect the manufacturer’s vehicle servicing plan, police immobilizing the vehicle, vehicle being immobilized for legal purposes, accidents where the driver is under the influence of alcohol or another illegal substance, acts of God, war, strikes, natural disasters, etc, participating and or preparing for sporting competitions, rallies or trials, damage or breakage of windows, lights and mirrors, vehicle failure as a result of incorrect use, telephone calls, personal effects and personal expenses other than those outlined in the Citroën Europass assistance program.
