The home of jazz in Cambridge
Cambridge Modern Jazz @camjazz
In common with many other jazz clubs Cambridge Modern Jazz sits at a crossroads looking forward to 2015. On the positive side, many of our gigs continue to be well supported, of high musical quality, and audience feedback is generally good.
However, the financial outlook is more uncertain than it has been for some time. As we go to press the future of Jazz Services (the UK national jazz support organisation) remains uncertain following removal of Arts Council funding. Money to support touring bands could be significantly reduced, or at worst disappear altogether. From April, along with other Cambridge arts organisations, we will almost certainly lose our City Council funding support due to Local Authority cuts.
Our policy has always been to value new and creative music above profit, but we will have to adapt to survive!
A number of options are open to us, most directly to appeal for donations, or sponsorship support, either with individuals or as corporate packages. As a long established and successful Cambridge arts organisation, we believe we have a strong proposition to put forward to potential sponsors, but we need introductions to the right people! Can you help by suggesting people and organisations that we might approach?
If you would like to discuss either of these options, or have any other useful suggestions, please contact us at [email protected] or phone David Gower on 07827 012875.
Thank you.

The work is based around eight locations the artist painted with music composed around spontaneous improvisations performed there.
