•Fracking is a safe and effective production

method as long as state-of-the-art or "best

practice" protocols are followed. Geological

evaluation is a key component.

•The way in which fracking can be used

safely at any given site depends strongly on

the individual geological factors at that site.

•These factors must be determined on a

case-by-case basis and, if favourable, they

must also be properly monitored during

production.

•To enforce the appropriate precautions and

measures, each production proposal must

carry out an environmental safety

assessment and full consultation with

communal authorities for environmental and,

especially, water affairs.
