Th e FLS Core Classes are the Key to Your Learning SuccessFLS core classes are a major part of our English Programs. Made up of 9 levels, the core sequence is an integrated skills program that teaches speaking, listening, reading and writing through a modern curriculum, teacher coaching and communicative activities. Our system simulates the way you learned your native language, through the natural use of all skills together. Th e daily core class uses modern, colorful textbooks with fascinating topics, an American reader and regular testing of your progress. Each class also includes English Everywhere Hot Sheets, with key vocabulary, conversation starters and important lesson highlights. Th e core class levels will take students from a founda-tional understanding of English grammar all the way to the profi ciency required for success at an American college.

Academic EnglishOur high-powered Academic English Program has six hours per day of quality language instruc-tion, including our Core Class, your choice of two electives or one premium test prep class and a daily Academic Workshop. This option is designed for students intending to transfer to an Ameri-can college or university or to quickly attain English fluency.

levels of the FLS English program,

General EnglishWith a stimulating combination of our Core Class and varied Aca-demic Workshops, the General English program takes your Eng-lish to new levels. Our Academic Workshops include pronunciation clinics, conversation clubs, home-work assistance and more to advance your English skills faster and give you more skill practice.

Vacation EnglishThe Vacation English Program offers basic instruction in the fundamental skills of English while still allowing plenty of time for students to explore the many fascinating cultural and enter-tainment attractions near our centers. Note: students may not use a student visa while enrolled in this program.

Intensive EnglishThe Intensive English Program is a comprehensive approach to studying English. You’ll have the advantage of three differ-ent classes: an integrated Core Class at one of nine FLS levels, a focused elective class cover-ing a specific skill or topic and an Academic Workshop to round out your school day.

For international students, the key to a strong academic experience is getting quality support from the staff and teachers at your center. From your fi rst day at FLS, you’ll be impressed with the expertise and caring attitude of our profes-sional staff . Academic Accreditations and Affi liationsFLS is accredited by ACCET (Accredit-ing Council on Continuing Education and Training), a national accrediting

agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. We are also members of the National Association of Foreign Student Ad-visors (NAFSA), the American Association of Intensive English Programs (AAIEP), and Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL).

Th e Immersion MethodAt FLS, you will meet students from all over the world, and you will develop your new language skills together. Students begin improving their English on the fi rst day of the program. Instruction is supplemented by role-playing, pair-work, group discussion and pronunciation exercises. Because our curriculum emphasizes oral Eng-lish, you will quickly fi nd your confi dence and compre-hension increasing!

Small Class SizesOur class sizes are small to increase individual attention and student-teacher interaction. Your FLS instructors will be accessible throughout the program. Average num-ber of students in a class is 12 (Maximum: 15).

Academic Track Programs and Counseling ServicesYour FLS counselor will help you stay on track for col-lege entrance by meeting with you to plan your progress through our levels, select the most appropriate electives, take advantage of the academic environment and prepare your application materials in time.

FLS off ers a host of programs and services to help students planning to attend, or currently attending high school or university study in the USA.

Varied Elective ClassesFLS offers a wide range of elective classes which focus on specific English skills or topics. Each elective class includes 6 lessons per week and use of the textbook. Every eight weeks, you’ll be able to take a new elective and explore new areas of knowledge.

FLS continues to introduce innovative new electives, such as English Through Film and College Preparation: Intro to Sociology, to challenge and engage students.

FLS Holiday Boarding ProgramIf you’re already attending boarding school or university in America, our school break programs will help you meet new friends, maintain your academic skills with daily ESL or SAT preparation classes, and enjoy exciting excursions in some of America’s top tourist cities. Program start dates are flexible to accommodate the wide range of school vacation dates.

Private High School, College and University PlacementIn cooperation with our partners at the Universal Placement Program, FLS offers you academic English preparation combined with hassle-free application and admissions as-sistance to excellent private high schools around the United States. Working with UPP, FLS offers the simplest and most effective way to find the right American university or college for you. After 8 weeks in the FLS program, you’ll receive free placement services to UPP’s wide range of institutions, many with TOEFL waivers.

A unique part of the FLS core program, English Everywhere centers around the Hot Sheet, a quick reference for all the key vocabulary, idioms, and structure covered in the classroom that week. Each Hot Sheet focuses on a diff erent theme, with conversation starters, songs and movies that explore the theme in greater detail. Th e Hot Sheets are more than just a reference for students. Th ey’re utilized by the entire FLS staff to engage students in conversations that include the key language points of the week. From our instructors to our homestay families to our tour chaperones, everyone involved is helping the students learn.

Plenty of sun and fun located in the Greater Los Angeles Area.

Located near the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains, Citrus College of-fers a great combination of suburban com-fort and safety along with access to all of the attractions and glamor of Los Angeles. Th e college is located within easy traveling distance of the famous California beaches, mountains and deserts. Popular local destinations include Disneyland, Universal Studios, Hollywood and Beverly Hills.

Citrus College was founded in 1915 and is one of the oldest colleges in California. After completing their studies, students can transfer to prestigious institutions such

as UCLA and UC Berkeley to complete their degrees. Old Town Glendora provides plenty of opportunities for shopping and eating.

Citrus off ers an ideal place for students to begin exploring all the many educational and cultural opportunities that California has to off er.

Since I entered FLS Citrus, I have never regretted my

Man-made and natural wonders abound in thriving Las Vegas.

Located near the heart of this exciting, world-famous destination, FLS Las Vegas Institute is a completely remodeled and upgraded center designed especially for the needs of international students. Th e conve-niently located campus, in the safe com-munity of Henderson, part of the Las Vegas metropolitan area, includes a computer lab and student lounge. Popular restaurants and shops are located next door to the center and the area is well-served by the Las Vegas public transit system.

Many students completing the FLS advanced classes transfer to the nearby

College of Southern Nevada. Additional transfer options are the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and Dixie State College in southern Utah.

Las Vegas off ers an endless variety of options for entertainment, dining, shopping and relaxation. Tennessee Tech University is ranked among the “Top Public Universities” and as one of the Best Universities in the South—Master’s category by U.S. News & World Report.

Th e campus provides a stimulating envi-ronment located just about an hour’s drive from the vibrant city of Nashville. Relax and enjoy the rural life in an all-American small town.

Lock Haven University is located in the all-American small town of Lock Haven, Pennsylvania on the historic East Coast of the United States. Th e dazzling urban centers of New York, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. are only a few hours drive away. Lock Haven features a quaint historic district with tree-shaded streets and immaculate Victorian homes.

Th e university has an illustrious his-tory, having been founded in 1870. It is well-known for its programs in teacher education, and is one of the few colleges in the country to off er a program in

sports medicine. Th e university is part of the respected Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education and has a mission to develop international programs. Enroll-ment is relatively small, allowing for a high-quality, personalized education.
