Jennifer Bridges will begin her second season as the head softball coach at Sonoma State University in 2011.

In her first season with the Sea-wolves in 2010, Bridges led the softball team to a CCAA Tourna-ment Championship title with a program record 43-18 mark after finishing second in the regular

season standings. Sonoma State earned a bid to host the NCAA Division II West Sub-Regional in Rohnert Park, but was eventually eliminated.

The Seawolves led the CCAA in nearly every offensive statistical category, including batting average, slugging percentage, on base percentage, runs scored, hits, runs batted in, home runs, total bases and hit by pitches. SSU also shattered the school record for most home runs in a season with 52 -- the previous mark of 24 was set back in 2007. Bridges pitching staff also had a huge year, tossing two no-hitters and grabbing three conference Pitcher of the Week awards.

Prior coming to Sonoma State, Bridges was the head coach at Whittier in 2008 and 2009. She led the Poets to unprecedented levels of success, includ-ing the programs first ever conference tournament appearance last spring. Her two-year record at Whittier was 45-35 and the squads 24 wins in 09 were the most for the program since 1987.

In addition to her coaching duties, Bridges also served as an Assistant Athlet-ics Director and Senior Woman Administrator at Whittier.

Prior to taking the reigns at Whittier, Bridges spent four seasons (2004-2007) as an assistant coach at the University of San Diego. She also coached the University of San Diego High School squad in 2002 and 2003.

Bridges played NCAA Division I softball at the University of San Diego and was her teams captain as a junior and senior.

A graduate of the University of San Diego with a Bachelors Degree in Psy-chology, Bridges earned her Masters Degree in Physical Education from Azusa Pacific University.

Trisha McCormick is in her third season season as the assistant softball coach at Sonoma State University in 2012. McCormick was instrumental in helping the Seawolves to back-to-back CCAA Tournament championships in 2010 and 2011.

Prior to coming to Sonoma State, she served as the assistant coach at Whittier College with head coach Jennifer Bridges, helping the Poets to a 24-18 record in 2009 and the first-ever conference tournament appearance in school history.

As a student-athlete, Trisha spent four years at the University of La Verne in La Verne, California where she earned Second Team All-Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honors. She also graduated cum laude with departamental honors.

Prior to her career with the Leopards, she was a two-sport athlete at Sunny Hills High School in Fullerton, Calif., where she earned First Team All-League honors in softball and Second Team All-League accolades in volleyball. Trisha was a two-year captain in both sports and was also a four-year scholar athlete. McCormick has a USAW Level 1 Club Coach Certification.

    ASHLEY BRITTONASSISTANT COACH

Ashley Britton is entering her first season as an assistant coach for the Seawolves in 2012. A two-year softball student-athlete for Sonoma State, Britton earned Daktronics All-West Region and All-CCAA First Team honors as a senior in 2010 for her role in helping the Seawolves capture the programs first-ever CCAA tournament title.

During the 2010 season, Britton was the Seawolves second-best hitter, batting .353 with eight home runs and recorded a program-record 46 runs batted in, the second-best mark in the CCAA. Not only was she one of the main offensive threats for Sonoma State, but she was one of the best defenders in the conference. At third base, Britton assisted on a conference-high 143 putouts, making just 10 errors for a stellar .940 fielding percentage.

Prior to her two-year stint at Sonoma State, she was a two-time First Team All-Conference performer for the Vikings, ranking second in the state in home runs as a sophomore in 2008. Britton is a native of Campbell, Calif., and prepped at Westmont High School.
