On Friday June 1st, the Glendale Fire Department holds its annual Fire Safety Picnic where 5th grade students throughout the Glendale Unified School District including private schools, participate in a day of fun in the sun. Throughout the early months of the year, 5th grade students learn about fire safety by reading their fire safety manuals, watching videos, and enjoying a visit by a local fireman. Upon completion of the manual, students take a fire safety test and write an essay. The student who writes the best essay and the three highest scorers on the test earned the opportunity to go to the picnic. The Armenian Sisters Academy is proud to see Alique Malekian (best essay), Rita Bastekian (highest test score), Michelle Kurkjian (high score), and Aleen Ohannessian (high score) earn their way to the picnic this year. Congratulations go out to them from the staff and students. Way to go!
