The ceremony took place on the 23 November2011 at the prestigious Berkeley hotel in London.There were a total of 40 awards received,consisting of 19 Bronze, 13 Silver and 8 Gold. Onecompany, Rydon Maintenance - North LondonRegion, was also honoured with the title of MostConsiderate Company 2011.
These awards were given to companies who have demonstrated the highest levels ofconsideration to the neighbourhood and generalpublic, the workforce and the environment.
Scheme Chairman, Robert Biggs, introduced theawards which were then presented by Julia Evans,Chief Executive of the National Federation ofBuilders (NFB).
The Scheme would like to congratulate everycompany who received an award at this event which recognises the hard work anddedication they have put in place to be a moreconsiderate constructor.

IntroductionThe Considerate Constructors Scheme recently celebrated its first National CompanyAwards where registered companies were recognised for their contribution towardsimproving the image of construction.
It is a pleasure to be involved inthe National Company Awards,to recognise and reward theexceptional measures thatregistered companies have putinto practice.
It was just over two years ago that the Schemelaunched the Company Registration initiative,designed to benefit construction companies ofall types and size. The last two years have seenCompany Registration grow tremendously, withhundreds of companies registering with theScheme. The National Company Awardscelebrate the most considerate companies and Icongratulate everyone who received an award.

Based in North London, Rydon Maintenanceprovides reactive repair and maintenanceservices to over 7,000 dwellings throughoutthe area.
The levels of consideration shown to tenants atthis busy company were exemplary. SchemeMonitors visited a number of sites, and in eachcase, the company standards were clearlybeing maintained and often exceeded. Greatcourtesy was shown towards each tenant, withoperator photo identity cards on display at alltimes for the residents’ reassurance whilst alsotaking the time to discuss what the workinvolved. The visits themselves were oftentimed to help avoid school runs and other busyperiods, and operatives were prepared to waitif a tenant’s return was delayed.
Details such as the placing of dust sheets fromthe main entrance to a tenant’s flat were widelyobserved, as was the provision of bottleddrinking water and chemical toilet facilitieswhere supplies were to be unavoidablydisrupted. The success of this comprehensiveapproach was evidenced by excellent tenantrelations and zero housekeeping complaintsbeing recorded across the whole company.
Rydon Maintenance also provided valuablecommunity support through free redecorationof a local community centre, repairs to achildren’s playground and the staging of an artcompetition. Supported by high environmentalstandards and consistently improving site visitscores, this company demonstrated a clearcommitment to achieving the very best inconsiderate practices.
