Curriculum: Phillipsburg High School provides a comprehensive, quality education to its students with an Eight-Period Rotating Block Schedule. This provides for in-depth exploration of subject matter necessary for post-secondary success. Dual Enrollment courses are noted by an * on the list of Ranked Courses.

School and Community: Phillipsburg is situated in the southwestern tip of Warren County at the forks of the Delaware River. It is the largest town in this agricultural section of New Jersey. Due to its location in the highly diversified industrial area of the Lehigh Valley, its economy is relatively stable. Phillipsburg High School is one of the oldest high schools in New Jersey. It was organized by an act of the New Jersey Leg-islature in 1871. The present high school, constructed in 1927, contains 63 classrooms and a library with over 19,000 books and audio visual materials. There are 138 faculty members. Phillipsburg High School is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and the New Jersey Department of Education.

Grading System: Letter Grade Equivalent Meaning 90 - 100 A Superior 80 - 89 B Above Average 70 - 79 C Average 60 - 69 D Below Average 59 - and Below F Failing P Passing I Incomplete

Class Rank: Class rank will be calculated at the end of each academic year of high school and again at the end of the 3rd marking period of the senior year. Student grade point average (GPA) is calculated by multiplying credits attempted times the quality points earned for each course included in ranking. The total quality points for the year divided by the credits attempted that year will give the yearly average. Class rank is determined by placing the cumulative averages from highest to lowest.

Honor Recognition: Students who achieve academic excellence will earn membership to our High Honor Roll and Honor Roll on a Quarterly Basis: High Honor Roll: Students must earn no grade lower than a 90% in each subject during the course of one complete marking period; Honor Roll: Students must earn no grade lower than an 80% in each subject during the course of one complete marking period.
