Celebrate CHRIST in your home this Christmas Season
1. Celebrate Christ in special family times. Read the Christmas story from Matthew and Luke. Act out some of the story. Make simple puppets. Sing Christmas songs. Have a candlelight service at home. Get a special Christmas book and read it through several times during the month. Get and then watch Christ-centered videos.
2. Use an advent calendar that honors Christ. It can be as simple as putting stickers of Jesus on a regular calendar. An advent calendar can be a natural way to help children experience the excitement of the coming of Christ.
3. Have a birthday party for Jesus. Include a cake, gifts for Jesus (food items for the needy, money or special gifts for missions, etc.)
4. Celebrate Christ by sharing with others. Give an extra gift to Marilyn Cook to help her feed children in South Africa. Write letters to a missionary family. Select a child in need to buy gifts for. Care for the elder-ly. Make cookies, candies or bread to share with the elderly. Then go spend time with them. Ask them to share with you about their memories of old-time Christmas. They will love it.
5. Have decorations which Celebrate Christ. Make the manger scene a central decoration. One little boy kept asking his mother when they could put up Christmas. As she got out the ornaments, he continued to ask the same question. She finally opened the box with the creche in it. He beamed, Now we can put up Christmas. Have an inexpensive creche for the children to play with. Make a banner or poster which hon-ors Christ.
6. Do outreach projects together. Cook together. Make gift items together. Make sending Christmas cards a family affair. Share with your children about the family and friends you send cards too.

The congregational meeting will be held

of the church will vote on the individuals

Christmas Program, “ ABC’s of Christmas” will
be presented on December 20th at 7:00 p.m.

The Phillips County Community Cantata will
be performing on Saturday December 9th at
7:00 p.m. and Sunday, December 10th at 2:00
p.m. at the Huck Boyd Community Center in
Phillipsburg.

Practice for the 2017 Christmas Eve
Service has been scheduled for Saturday
December 23rd at 1:00 p.m. at the Huck Boyd
Community Center.
Once again FCC will be hosting a Christmas
Eve Service at Huck Boyd on Sunday evening,
December 24th at 5:30 p.m. Invite your
friends, neighbors and family to come and join
us in celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior
Jesus Christ. The short service will include
carols, special music, a short message, a com-
munion service and a candlelight service.

7:00 pm. – CASE FOR CHRIST movie plus
fellowship time.
Let’s build our faith! Lee Strobel was a
reporter and an avowed atheist. He was
intent in using strong detective-like diligence in
checking out every news story he produced.
So he decided he would use that same kind of
diligence in checking out about Jesus Christ.
As a result he did discover that the case for
Christ is overwhelming. He wrote a book
entitled “The Case For Christ “ and now the
information has been put into a powerful
movie. We will be showing the “CASE FOR
CHRIST” movie at 7:00 PM on New Year’s Eve
right here at FCC. This is definitely a movie
and an evening for the entire family. You will
be blessed and your faith will be strengthened.
Invite friends and family to come also. We’ll
provide popcorn, tea and water for fellowship
time. We ask you to bring a favorite finger
food, soft drink if you like and we will enjoy an
evening of enlightenment, great fellowship,
good food, ending with a special prayer time.

Are you challenged to do more for God?
The apostle Paul surrounded himself with people
who could help him achieve two things: fulfill his
God-given mission and conform to Christlikeness.
While Paul was pouring himself out to others, he
was being built up and strengthened. This is God's
plan for each of us.
On Sunday, January 7th, interested participants will
be invited to Coffee and Conversation following
church. A short one hour presentation will further
encourage readers to seek God's will in their lives
while encouraging and ministering to the needs of
others.

Paul begins many of his epistles expressing
thanks to the people. “I thank my God every
time I remember you. . . . I always pray with joy
because of your partnership in the gospel from
the first day until now.” Philippians 1:3-5.
We join with Paul in saying we thank God for
you. Thank you for your gifts of appreciation to
us. Thank you for your prayers. Keep on praying
for us, for the church and for God’s work
throughout the world.

The Phillipsburg Post Prom Drive-Thru
Meal Fundraiser has been scheduled for
December 10th at the First Christian Church
back driveway, 150 S. 7th Street. They will
be serving roast beef, mashed potatoes and
gravy, green beans, roll and a cookie. Ticket
price is $8.00 per meal. Tickets may be
purchased at the First National Bank or
through any junior or senior student. Meal
pickup starts immediately after the Commu-
nity Cantata at approximately 3:30 p.m. The
meals will be delivered to your car.

will be held at the “The Center” formerly
know as the Golden Years Senior Center on
Christmas Day - Monday, December 25th at
11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
