Current Issues
Batteries must be physically removed or plugged in through 3 ports to be charged
Physical interaction is not an option ‘off-planet’
Need to find a way to remotely plug in K-10 and charge the batteries

Proposed Solution

Induction Based Charger:
•Create a two-part separable transformer, split between the rover and base station
•No direct human interaction required to charge rover batteries
How It Works

• When the electric current alternates in a wire loop a magnetic field is created.
•A second wire near the magnetic field will experience and induced electrical charge.
•The induced charge will charge the battery without physical contact.

Power Regulation
• An optocoupler is used to send isolated voltage regulation information back to primary side of transformer.
