All visitors now need to be buzzed

into the building by a school staff

member. The camera and door bell

are located to the right of the main

doors. All visitors will still be re-

quired to check in at the front office

    and show identification. This new

system will allow all of the outside

doors to be locked during the

school day. Our main doors will

    remain unlocked from 7:45 8:15

am and from 2:50 3:30 pm.

TCAP TestngThe TCAP (Transitional Colorado Assessment Program) is based on the new Colorado Model

Content Standards and has replaced CSAP. The TCAP will continue to assess the same content

areas and grades as CSAP. Students will be taking the TCAP tests. The tests and schedule for

each grade level at EMS are as follows:

    6th Grade: Reading, Writing, Math:

    March 11 - 15

    7th Grade: Reading, Writing, Math:

    March 11 - 15

8th Grade: Reading, Writing, Math, Science:

    March 11 - 15

Attendance is vital during this time. We wanted to let you know early so that appointments

and vacations are not scheduled during these days. Thanks in advance for your under-

    standing and cooperation.

What do you remember about middle school? Your friends? The teachers? The goofy projects

and after school clubs? Help your child hold onto their yearbook days by buying them a year-

book. $25.00 will buy them a lifetime of memories. Yearbooks can be purchased online through

our EMS website, or through our librarian, Mrs. Monroe.

Attendance and being on time during this week are vital to the success of your student at our school. It is

critical that all students attend school for the entire week during the TCAP testing period of March 11 -15. Please, ifat all possible, plan appointments after 3 pm during this week of TCAP. Also, please encourage your students to

try their hardest and get enough rest in preparation for these assessments. Thank you in advance for your under-standing and cooperation.

We will be doing several raffle baskets during this week for students that have perfect attendance and aretrying their best on these assessments. Our staff will be giving out special TCAP ROAR coupons and students may

place their coupons in the corresponding containers in the main office for the baskets they would like to win.
