After reviewing the admission requirements and program options, you are strongly encouraged to attend one of the next program information advising sessions or view the program information session video at the above website to determine if Sac State’s program is a good fit for you. Advisors at the information sessions spend 60-90 minutes overviewing program admission requirements, the application process, program options, and answer your questions. Teaching Credential Programs only begin in FALL semesters. Regarding SPRING semester admis-sion: applications for a spring semester will only be processed for those applicants who still need to complete the following credential pre-requisite courses and want to complete these courses in a spring semester rather than summer school:

EDUC 170 - Introduction to Bilingual Education: Educating the English Learner

EDUC 100A/B - Educating the Exceptional Learner in Inclusive Settings

HLSC 136 - School Health Education

KINS 172 (for dual program option only) - Movement Education/Elementary School Physical Education

**Admission to a spring semester to complete pre-requisite courses does NOT guarantee admission to a credential program for a fall semester. You must still submit another application for fall program admission consideration and complete the faculty interview process.

SPRING GENERAL ADMISSIONTWO APPLICATIONS REQUIRED: 

• The general University graduate school application becomes available on AUGUST 1st each year and is usually due by SEPTEMBER 1st.

• The supplemental application for completing pre-requisites is available by JULY each year and is usually due no later than OCTOBER 1st.

Supplemental applications for SPRING semester admission are only available through a program advisor in JULY and AUGUST each year.  Email [email protected] in summer to obtain the information about applying for the spring semester in order to complete the above credential pre-requisite courses.

FALL PROGRAM ADMISSIONTWO APPLICATIONS REQUIRED:

• The supplemental application for FALL semester program admission con-sideration is usually available in OCTOBER each year. The deadline to submit the supplemental application is usually in FEBRUARY.

• The general University application becomes available on OCTOBER 1st each year and is usually due by FEBRUARY 1st.
