PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE COMPLETION OF ENTRY FORM.Your co-operation will be appreciated and will ensure correct entry in the Catalogue.

1. Complete with ballpoint (not felt tip) pen and return.

2. Ensure that the Class is the correct one for the animal, i.e. age, sex, height, etc. and give all relevant information required.

3. PLEASE enter name and full address at “Exhibitor and address”.

4. The enclosed form allows for eight entries — more will gladly be supplied if you need to enter more than eight animals.

5. Entry Fees — Please consult Schedule. Cheques should be made payable to the Dunster Show Society and must accompany this form.

6. Numbers and passes will be sent to the address on the form unless otherwise requested.

7. Substitution of animals in place of those already entered but unable to be exhibited is NOT allowed.

8. Every Competitor or Exhibitor will be held entirely responsible for the correctness of their entry forms, in all respects — incorrect particulars may lead to disqualification. Any animal, however, which as a result of, in the Judges opinion, a genuine mistake on the Entry Form, is entered in a Class for which it is not eligible may be shown in a Class in which it would have been eligible.

9. Horse Competitors are reminded that they MUST include the Registration Numbers where these are required by Breed Societies or Associations.

10. MV is not applicable to horse entries.

11. Where applicable passports must accompany the animal to the Showground.

12. If confirmation of receipt of entry is required a stamped addressed postcard requiring a signature only must be enclosed with entry.

CONDITIONS AND REGULATIONS FOR THE EXHIBITION OF STOCK, etc

DAMAGE THAT MAY OCCUR TO ANY EXHIBIT

ENTRIES

1. Entries must be made on the form enclosed with the Schedule and sent to the Secretary or enter on line at www.thedunstershow.co.uk with the appropriate entrance fees by MONDAY, 9th JULY.

2. ENTRIES RECEIVED AFTER THIS DATE WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.3. LOCAL CLASSES. In order to qualify for LOCAL CLASSES, Owners must have resided within a

radius of 15 miles from DUNSTER SHOW GROUND (measured as the crow flies on the Ordnance Survey map) for six months during the twelve months ending on the day of the show.

4. All ages to be calculated to the day of the Show.5. All animals exhibited must be the bona fide property of the exhibitor, both at the time of entry and

on the day of the Show.6. The Committee reserves the right to reject any entry without assigning any reason for so doing.7. Under NO circumstances can an animal be substituted after the closing date of entries.8. If any person, whether as exhibitor or competitor or otherwise, brings to the show any animal

which he or she should reasonably have known to be dangerous or diseased and/or which causes injury or damage, he or she shall be liable for all injury, damages, costs, losses or expenses which the Committee or any other person may sustain, incur or be put to either directly or indirectly as a result of his or her so doing.

9. Classes with twenty or more entries will be awarded some special rosettes.10. In the unavoidable absence of a judge as shown on the Schedule, the Committee reserves the right to

appoint a replacement without reference to competitors.11. Classes with three entries or less may be cancelled.

HORSES

12. In relation to Equine Influenza for ALL Equine classes including show stands equine Displays or main ring equine attractions or other competitions such as shoeing for the forthcoming season, the Dunster Show will be following the guidelines below which have been issued by the Association of Show and Agricultural Organisations of which the Dunster Show Society is a member.

13. We urge all owners to adhere to strict Bio security protocols and the following guidelines:14. Horses should have been vaccinated to comply with the requirements of the primary course (1st

vaccination and then 2nd vaccination between 21 – 92 days later), followed by the first booster (150 – 215 days) and all subsequent boosters. Horses may compete having received the primary course and prior to the first booster but not within 7 days of receiving a vaccine dose.

15. Horses should have been vaccinated within 6 months before the show but not less than 7 days of arriving at the show.

16. In-foal mares that have already had vaccinations of primary Equine Influenza course should be vaccinated 4-6 weeks before the foal is due to be born.

17. Foals should be vaccinated for Equine Influenza at 6 months to commence their primary course.18. Vaccinations are subject to local risk assessments by the attending veterinarians. 19. PLEASE NOTE THAT NEITHER VACCINATION CERTIFICATES NOR PASSPORTS

SHOULD BE SENT TO THE SHOW PRIOR TO THE EVENT. HOWEVER, RANDOM CHECKS MAY BE CARRIED OUT ON THE SHOWGROUND DURING THE SHOW

20. CORRECTNESS OF ENTRY FORMS. Every exhibitor or competitor will be held entirely responsible for the correctness of their Entry Forms. In all respects incorrect particulars or information may lead to disqualification. Any animal, however, which as a result of, in the Judges’ opinion, a genuine mistake on the Entry Form, is entered in a class for which it is not eligible, may be shown in the class for which it would be eligible.

21. Judges’ interest in exhibits. Exhibitors are not permitted to enter any animals in any class which is to be judged by a person who has or has had a financial interest in the animals in the previous 3 years or which has stood in his/her stable during the same period. Stud fees are not considered to be financial gain. The onus of complying with this regulation rests entirely on the exhibitor.

22. Brood mares must be four years old or over.23. All foals, which must accompany mares in the ring, must be at least three weeks old on the day of the

show.24. Riders must wear the catalogue number of their horses.25. The show recommends that anyone on a horse must wear a correctly secured hard hat according to

All PAS 015; VG1; (BS) EN1384 2017; ASTM F1163 04a onwards; SNELL E2001; SNELL E2016; AS/NZS 3838 2003 onwards. The most recent updates to the list are the addition of SNELL E2016 and EN1384 (2017); the newest version of the SNELL Standard could have begun to appear in 2017 and is accepted to the list; the newest version of the EN1384 Standard will begin to appear during 2018 and is also accepted to the list

26. No spurs to be worn in ridden Mountain and Moorland classes.27. The Organisers of this show have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of

everyone present. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the Organisers and all the Officials and Stewards.

28. The first prize winners in the Horse Section must parade in the main ring. Assembly of all 1st, and prizewinners in Horse and Pony Collecting Ring 1.30 p.m. Parade, Ring 1, 1.40 p.m.

CATTLE AND SHEEP

PLEASE NOTE ALL CATTLE AND SHEEP BROUGHT TO THE SHOWGROUND MUST BE TRANSPORTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH DEFRA LICENSING AND TRANSPORT

REGULATIONS. IN THE EVENT OF NON- COMPLIANCE ENTRY TO THE SHOWGROUND WILL NOT BE PERMITTED.

DURING THE SHOW IT IS A REQUIREMENT OF THE CONDITIONS OF THE SHOW THAT ALL PERSONS HAVING CONTACT WITH CATTLE AND SHEEP ABIDE BY THE

OPERATING PROCEDURES/PLAN AS DIRECTED BY THE BIO-SECURITY OFFICER AND STEWARDS. PERSONS FAILING TO FOLLOW THESE PROCEDURES AT THE

SHOWGROUND WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE. DETAILS OF SUCH PERSONS WILL BE KEPT BY THE LICENSING OFFICER.

1. Classes may be cancelled or amalgamated at the discretion of the Committee. 2. Classes with three entries or less may be cancelled or amalgamated.3. All stock vehicles must be removed from the vicinity of cattle and sheep lines immediately after

unloading.4. Cattle and Sheep must be on the showground by 8.a.m. cattle exhibited must be led in the judging

ring.5. All animals in the Cattle and Sheep Classes must remain on the Show ground until the parade of the

prize winners is completed.6. Special penning will be provided for maedi-visna sheep provided this is notified on the entry form.7. In the event of the Judges in Supreme Championships for Sheep failing to reach a result they will call

in the appropriate Chief Steward as sole arbitrator.

SOCIETY RULES

1. The Society shall be named the Dunster Show Society and the objects shall be to advance agriculture and improve the breeding of horses, cattle and sheep and to raise funds by holding an annual agricultural show and in furtherance of the above objects the Society shall have power to collect subscriptions and offer prizes at any show held in connection with the Society.

2. The general management of the Society shall be vested in a General Committee consisting of a Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Treasurer and Secretary and thirty Members. Ten Members shall form a quorum.

3. The President, Deputy President shall be elected at the Annual General Meeting by a majority of the Members present.

4. The Annual General Meeting for elections as in 3 above, the presentation of the Show’s Balance Sheet, revision of the Show schedule and other business shall be held during the month of November in each year at such a time and place as may be fixed by the Committee. Not less than seven days’ notice shall be given. Ten Members shall form a quorum.

5. A Chairman and a Vice-Chairman of the Committee shall be elected each year by the Committee immediately after the Annual General Meeting, as shall a Chief Steward for each section, Horse, Cattle and Sheep. If not already elected Members of the Committee, the Chairman, Vice-Chairman and Chief Stewards shall be ex-officio Members.

6. The Committee shall have powers to co-opt and may appoint Sub-Committees at any time for such purposes as the Committee thinks fit.

7. Vacancies occurring amongst the Officers or Committee during the year may be filled by the Committee. Any Officer or Committee Member so elected shall be subject to the same regulations as to retirement as the person whose place he has been elected to fill.

8. The appointment of Treasurer and Secretary shall be made by the Committee. Any remuneration paid to any Officer or other Paid Staff shall be authorised by the Committee.

9. The office of Vice President is to be an honorary award given in appreciation for services rendered to the Society. The award to be given at the sole discretion of the Committee and carries no financial obligations. A maximum of two Vice presidents to be elected in any one year at the AGM.

10. The annual subscription for each member shall not be less than £25 payable on or before 1st January. No subscriber of less than £25 shall be allowed to vote.

11. The Enclosure will be reserved for Vice-Presidents, Patrons and Subscribers of £25 upwards. Each will receive a Members’ Enclosure Badge, a Guest Enclosure Badge and a Car Pass.

12. Any alteration to these Rules shall be made only at the ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING. Provided that 28 days’ notice of the proposed alteration has been given to all Members and provided that nothing therein contained shall authorise any alteration the effect of which would cause the Society at any time to cease to be a charity at law.

JUDGING AND PROTESTS

1. Should the Judges require a Veterinary Surgeon’s opinion, the Veterinary Surgeon on duty will be called in, and his decision shall be final.

2. When an animal that has been awarded a prize is disqualified or becomes ineligible to take or retain that prize under the Rules of the Society the animal placed next by the Judge shall take its place.

3. Any protest must be lodged with the Secretary in the handwriting of the Exhibitor, or that of his representative, before 3 p.m. on the day of the Show, accompanied by a deposit of £20, which sum will be returned if the protest is sustained, but forfeited to the Society if the protest is not upheld. All disputes to be settled by the Committee, whose decision shall be final.

4. Competitors should understand that it is a condition of entry that details of entries will be shared with any relevant bodies and DEFRA, that names, addresses and photos will be printed in the catalogue and results displayed on the Society’s website and in the press. By entering competitors also agree to receive update emails from the Dunster Show and to be emailed a schedule in 2020.

1. Entry Fees will not be returned to entrants who fail to exhibit or take part in any competition. Prize money to be collected on show day only, any unclaimed prize money will be donated to the society.

RETRAINED RACEHORSE

Class 10 is a RoR Jockey Club Novice Show Series Qualifier 2020. The RoR Jockey Club Novice Ridden Show Horse Class. Thoroughbred mare or gelding, 4years old or over, any height. Riders must be 15 years or over on 1st January of the calendar year holding the classes. Horses should be ridden in a snaffle, Pelham or simple double bridle with a cavasson noseband. Horses should be plaited. To take part in this class, horses must NOT have won an ridden open class. (inc SEIB/HOYS, BSHA, SHB(GB) RoR Tattersalls Show Series Qualifier, TARRA Ridden, RoR AMATEUR Ridden Show Series Qualifier or any other open class except RoR TBA Challenge Show Series classes.Unaffiliated Show wins are not taken into account.Horses WILL be ridden by the judge. Horses will be stripped for conformation.Horses may remain in Novice Show series classes until they win 3 RoR Jockey Club Novice Show Series Qualifiers. The are de-noviced on their third novice win or on the day they win an open class, whichever happens first. They are still eligible to compete in the RoR Jockey Club Final at the RoR Goffs UK National Championships that August.The first three to go forward to the final at the RoR Goffs UK Championships, Aintree in August 2020. All entries MUST be have current RoR competition registered and have RACED in GB. The class will be run under the rules of RoR. IRISH DRAUGHT

The following classes are affiliated to the Irish Draught Horse society (GB) and only horses registered with or overstamped by the IDHS(GB) and in the correct ownership are eligible for entry. All Pure Bred Breeding and Youngstock In-hand exhibits must be the progeny of a Graded Mare ( ID Class1, Class 2, RID (GB), AID or Supplementary Grade Up Register) and be by a Class 1, Class 2 or RID (GB) stallion on the Irish Draught Breed Register. OR registered on the Irish Draught Sport Horse register. The owners of all Pure-bred Irish Draught horses in both In-hand and ridden classes must be full members of the IDHS(GB). This rule does apply to owners of Irish Draught Sport Horses. Registration numbers to be stated on the entry form and entries will be sent to the IDHS(GB) prior to the show to confirm eligibility. All 1,2 & 3yr old COLTS must be bitted and shown by an experienced handler of 18 years of age or over.All competing STALLIONS must be the progeny of a Graded Mare (ID Class1, Class2, RID (GB) AID or supplementary Grade Up register) by a Class 1, Class2 or RID (GB) stallion and be inspected or overstamped by the IDHS(GB) and classified as either RID(GB), ID Class 1 or ID Class 2 OR be a Registered IDSH Stallion and must display a red, white and blue ribbon in their tails. This show is a qualifier for the Moorbenhall Irish Draught Youngstock Challenge. The 2 highest placed Pure Breds from each age group that have not already qualified in Class 33-yearlings, two year olds and three year olds- eligible for Class 1 on the Irish Draught Breed Register by an ID Class 1, ID Class 2 or RID(GB) sire, out of a graded dam will qualify to go forward to the Final at the IDHS(GB) Annual Breed Show 2020. Each qualifier will receive a card. Qualifiers are required to complete an online form at www.idhsgb.com to inform the IDHS(GB) that they have qualified for the final. In the final there will be three preliminary classes with the two highest placed semi- finalists from each class going forward to the Championship where the Champion will receive £500 and the reserve Champion £150. This show is a qualifier for the Blue Chip & IDHS(GB) £2,000 Challenge. The highest placed horse (not already qualified) from Class 32 will qualify for the Final of the Blue Chip & IDHS (GB) £2,000 Challenge which will be held at the IDHS(GB) Annual Breed Show in 2020. N.B. A horse may only qualify for the Final once, regardless of type or number of classes won, placed in or entered. Each qualifier will receive a card and a £10 voucher from Blue Chip. Qualifiers are required to complete an online form at www.idhsgb.com to inform the IDHS(GB) that they have qualified for the final. This show is a qualifier for the Midland Arab Group Ltd National Championship for young Riders 2020 for riders up to age 21 years on 1st Jan in the current year. Horses and ponies will not be ridden by the judge, but give a short individual show, and may be stripped. The two highest placed unqualified animals in the class will qualify. Qualifying cards will be presented in the ring and a rosette will be sent to the successful competitor when the card is filled in and sent to Tracey Hateley. NB. The horse is being judges for its suitability as a Young Riders Mount NOT the rider. The final will be held at the Arab Horse Society show in 2020.

These classes are judged under the Rules of the NPS. Ponies must be registered in the main body of their respective Mountain & Moorland Stud Books. Part Breds are not eligible for Mountain & Moorland Classes. To compete in Show Pony and Show Hunter Pony classes ponies must be registered in the NPS British Riding Pony Stud Book, Register, Appendix, International or Sports Pony section of the BRPSB, the GSB, the AHSB,the AASB or in the main body of their respective Mountain & Moorland Stud Books. Part Breds are not eligible unless entered in the NPS British Riding Pony Stud Book, Register, Appendix, International or Sports Pony section of the BRPSB. Qualifying rounds for most NPS competitions are open to ponies owned by NPS members and non-members but only ponies owned by adult NPS Qualifying or Life members are eligible to qualify for the final of the competition at the NPS Summer Championship Show at Malvern in 2020. The highest placed pony, if owned by an NPS member, in each class will qualify for the final. Qualification may pass down to third place if the first and second ponies are already qualified. NPS/Rosettes Direct Home Produced Ridden Championship - Riders of Home Produced ponies (see definition in the NPS Rules Book) can wear a white arm band in classes where this is indicated. These ponies, if owned by NPS members, are then eligible to qualify for the final at the NPS Summer Championship Show. The Owner’s Membership cards MUST be produced in the ring when requested or the qualification will be forfeit.

NPS SILVER MEDAL CHAMPIONSHIP CONDITIONS

NPS Silver Medal Rosette Championships: These classes are judged under the Rules of the NPS. NPS Silver Medal Rosettes are only awarded when the owner of the champion pony is a Qualifying or Life member of the NPS. A valid membership card must be in the rider’s/handler’s possession on entering the ring and be produced immediately on request by either the judge or the steward. If the owner of the Champion pony is not a member, or the owner’s membership card is not immediately produced, the rosette may be awarded to the Reserve Champion provided they have the required membership card. If the Champion pony has previously qualified it is still entitled to the Silver Medal Rosette but the qualification card goes to the Reserve Champion pony, provided the owner of that pony is a member of the NPS. The Silver Medal Rosette and the qualification card can be awarded no lower than first Reserve (third). Foals are not eligible for Silver Medal Championships.

Qualifiers are entitled to compete in the final of the Silver Medal Rosette Championship to be held at the NPS Summer Championship Show in August 2020.

FLEECE COMPETITION

To be judged in the Fleece Marquee at 10a.m. For the purposes of this competition, fleeces must be neatly rolled and secured by the neck wool. Exhibitors are restricted to two fleeces per class. Exhibitors are responsible for ensuring that fleeces are delivered to the Fleece Marquee between 8.30am and 9.30am on the day of judging. Fleeces may be collected after 5pm on show day. Fleeces that are artificially stained or coloured or fastened with any form of twine will be eliminated. The competition will be judged on a points system. Fleeces may be moved at the discretion of the judge. ENTRY FEE £2.50 per fleece. Prize money of 1st £10, 2nd £7, 3rd £5.
