Renault Eco-Friendly Truck• Renault Trucks is a French truck

manufacturer with its corporate headquarters at Saint-Priest near Lyon.

• Since 2001 it has been owned by Volvo Group.

• The Puncher has the potential to reduce emissions while the truck is standing still of a key-less start that can power up "the wholly-electric power system before the diesel engine takes over."

Renault Puncher

•The Puncher is powered by a DXi7, 320 HP engine, an Optidriver+ robotized gearbox and an MDS (Motor Drive System) electric motor.

•Its engine range includes a 6.2-litre common rail diesel, 8.3-litre petrol and 50-hp electric units.

•The time investined in creating the Reanult Puncher was about 10 Years.

Hybrid Truck

• Wal-Mart’s fleet of about 7,200 semi tractor-trailer trucks is already about 15 percent more fuel efficient and the company knows what changes it needs to make to meet a target of 25 percent by late next year.

• Kenworth T720 Class 6 hybrid-electric truck.

•PACCAR PS-6 diesel engine ( 8% reduction in fuel emissions)•340 volt battery kicks in when vehicles travel under 30 miles per hour.•Fuel efficiency has been improved with these trucks in comparison to all fuel trucks by 30%.•Other things about these trucks include: Carry less fuel, fuel effieicent tires, can turn off cab engines while still keeping refrigeration systems running -- a major energy-saver. •Estimated Price of a Wal-Mart eco-friendly truck is at least $40,000.

Newton Model Truck

• Smith Electric Vehicles, have created a truck that runs solely on electricity.

• They plan to set up manufacturing and produce up to 10,000 of the electric trucks per year.

• This truck has a gross vehicle weight (GVW) of up to 24,000 lbs

• The Newton Model Truck offers these statistics:

– Battery powered 120Kw drive system with a max speed of 50 mph

– Fully Charged range up to 150 miles

– Regenerative braking to cover energy from braking process

– Payload capacity up to 12,800 lb.

Fisker Karma

Fisker Karma• The Karma is powered by Quantum Technologies' Q-Drive technology,

an innovative petrol engine/electric motor combination; Q-Drive is a series hybrid system meaning that the engine is mated with a generator to provide an electrical connection to the motors and also recharge the batteries and as such the electric motors are the only mechanical driving force connected to the wheels.

• Despite its eco-friendly background the Karma features a 125 mph (201 km/h) top speed and is capable of reaching 60 mph (97 km/h) from a standstill in 5.8 seconds.

• 2009 marked the first time that an electric vehicle was named a North American Production Preview Vehicle of the Year by the North American Concept Vehicle of the Year Awards • The car is anticipated to have a PHEV-50, 50-mile (80 km) all electric range and sell for US $87,900

Tesla Sportster

• high-performance sports car based on the world's leading electric, zero emission vehicle

• 0-60 mph in 3.7 seconds

• Price starts at $128,500 in the United States, €99,000 (excluding VAT) in Europe and £101,900 (including VAT) in United Kingdom.

• With lithium-ion composition (this is something only Tesla has currently), the battery pack allows a range of more than 200 miles and acceleration performance that’s equal to the world’s best sports cars.
