The Awards showcase Te Arawa talent through an intergenerational perspective and acknowledges excellence in sport, cultural activities, service to the community, academia and Te Arawa making positive contributions to Whānau, Hapū, Iwi and Marae. Rotorua Energy Charitable Trust & First Sovereign Trust Limited Te Arawa Rangatahi Achievement Awards The Rangatahi award section recognises the achievements of Te Arawa Rangatahi. The awards encourage and promote participation, future opportunities, leadership and interaction in a positive environment whilst providing Rangatahi with incentives to fulfil their potential and take pride in their talent and abilities. The Rangatahi Awards are divided into 3 age groups: Primary School Students Intermediate School Students High School Students Rangatahi achievers are recognised for excellence in the following categories; Sport, Academic The Arts which includes – Culture, Kapa Haka, Music, Dance and the arts; Service to the community including Whanau, Hapu and Iwi, and Achievements as a Rangatahi Team or Group. The 2014 Te Arawa Awards recognises and celebrates outstanding achievements within Te Arawa. The Awards showcase Te Arawa talent through an intergenerational perspective and acknowledges excellence in sport, cultural activities, service to the community, academia and Te Arawa making positive contributions to Whānau, Hapū, Iwi and Marae.

Out of all rangatahi acknowledged 7 outstanding Rangatahi are recognised through scholarships, these rangatahi displayed excellence in sport, cultural activities, service to the community, academia and have made positive contributions to Te Arawa Whānau, Hapū, Iwi and Marae. The 2014 recipients are; Te Kotahitanga o Te Arawa (Te Arawa Fisheries)

Te Puhi o Te Arawa – Outstanding Rangatahi Achiever of the Year This commemorative award was established in 2011 by Te Papa Takaro o Te Arawa and the Douglas whanau in memory of Okeroa Te Waimiha moana Douglas, recognising one rangatahi that has shown exemplary dedication to their chosen pursuit or pursuits.

The awards evening showcases exemplar contribution by Te Arawa Iwi members as we acknowledge Te Arawa Whanau Ora collective Whanau of the year award, Te Puia Te Arawa Pride Hapu of the Year and are happy to announce and induct a deserving second recipient in to the Te Arawa Hall of Fame membership.
