Principals Page Dear Parents and Friends,
Assembly
Thank you to the parents who were able to attend our assembly on Monday for the presentation of Class
Captain badges. It is always delightful to see each new group of children stepping up into this leadership role.
As their time in the role progresses they show incredible growth in rational thinking, logical decision making
and ability to care and support others right from the Foundation level. Encouraging these qualities in
leadership and responsibility from a young age is testimony to the strength of the leadership skills of our
senior students and to their successes when they move on to their secondary education. Congratulations to all
of our new class captains for this term.
School Uniform
At the current time there are quite a few students who are coming to school wearing very bright clothing that
is not school uniform. Please make sure that your children are in school uniform or in school colours if it is a
one off occurrence. The school does have a pile of lost uniform that you can check at any time and as you
know we do sell uniform at the school, both new and second hand. So please ensure that your children are
coming dressed in uniform or if you have issues related to that and you need assistance, please give the office
a call on 97004488.
I wish you a happy and healthy week ahead.

HOW TO GIVE YOUR CHILD THE BEST CHANCE AT SCHOOL Make sure they attend school every day and arrive on time. Some absences are impossible to avoid – genuine
illness, bereavement, etc. are examples of the acceptable reasons for absence. However, every time your child is
late or absent from school, his/her learning is disrupted. What is taught and learned today is a foundation
which enables children to understand and master what is taught tomorrow.
It is usually harder for a child to catch up on work missed than to master it when it is being taught in class. To
avoid making it hard for your child, parents should minimise absences by:-
Arranging doctor and dentist appointments out of school hours.
Developing in your child the habit of being on time to school each day.
Not allowing children to remain at home for minor/frivolous reasons.
Arranging birthday celebrations etc to occur out of school hours.
Contacting the teacher immediately if there is any concern which might influence attendance.
