    This handbook was developed for use by students and employers asthey participate in The Bataan Peninsula tate !niversity on"the"#ob"training

    program$ It is intended to improve communications and understanding ofe%pectations between the employer, student, on"the"#ob training coordinatorand company supervisor or trainor$

    This handbook outlines the general guidelines, policies and proceduresof on"the"#ob training program$ More specific on"the"#ob trainingre&uirements will be outlined in the course provided by the on"the"#ob trainingcoordinator or company supervisor or trainor$

    ON-TE-!OB TRAINING OR SUPERVISED INDUSTRIAL TRAINING

    'n"the"#ob training or supervised industrial training is one of the besttraining methods develop by the university to students because it is planned,organi(ed, and conducted at the company or industrial site$ )enerally, it isthe primary method used by the university to further develop the skills of thestudent"trainee as well as increased their productivity$ !sing the state of theart e&uipment offered by the industry is an opportunity to &ualified student"trainee that enhances their ability to learn various tasks$

    ORGANI#ATIONAL STRUCTURE O" TEON-TE-!OB TRAINING PROGRAM

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES

    A. Dea$

    /$ Determines the &ualifications of students to undergo 'n"the"0obTraining in terms of sub#ect prere&uisites$

    1$ 2valuates, recommends, and submits to the office of the 3icePresident *cademic *ffairs the list of students who will undergo on"the"#ob training$

    4$ Directly supervises the coordinator of on"the"#ob training on matterspertaining to all aspects of the on"the"#ob training program5cooperating company, company supervisor or trainor, schedule ofdeployment of students, etc$

    6$ ubmits the recommendations of the possible industries to beinvolved in the on"the"#ob training program to the office of the vicepresident for academic affairs for her approval$

    7$ ubmits the list of successful student"trainees who finished on"the"#ob training or supervised industrial training for possible #obplacement to various companies or industries$

    B. O!T C%&&e'e C%%rd($a)%r

    /$ Prepares and submits to the College Dean a Program of *ctivities for theduration of on"the"#ob training$

    1$ 'rient the students on the details of on"the"#ob training such as on thegeneral atmosphere of the industries where they will be assigned,personalities of company supervisor or trainor, kinds of co"workers that theywill meet the staff of the industries, etc$

    4$ Conducts seminars to refresh the students on the different aspects of on"the"#ob training activities that they will need in training such as pre"orientationprocess, deployment procedure, monitoring and evaluation, submission ofre&uirements, work ethics, team building, leadership, etc$

    6$ ubmits to the College Dean list of students who are &ualified to take on"the"#ob training together with their company.s preference$

    7$ Coordinates with the Company supervisor or trainor where the student"trainees will be deployed to ensure smooth entrance to said company$

    8$ 'rients the Company supervisor or trainor on the !niversity.s 'n"the"0obTraining Program of *ctivities such as on the schedule of visits, deployment,seminars to be attended and actual training of student"trainees$

    9$ +olds at least monthly conferences with student"trainees to have a follow"upof their activities, their #ob performances and discusses issues and concernsrelated to on"the"#ob training$ :2mergency meeting can be called as the need

    the student"trainees$=$ Prepares all pertinent documents related to the on"the"#ob training program

    such as evaluation forms, observation>monitoring forms, report of grades,record of day"to"day, weekly or monthly activities of the student"trainees, etc$

    10. ubmits on"the"#ob training accomplishment report to the College Dean copy

    furnish the office of 3ice President for academic *ffairs$11. Prepares communications related to on"the"#ob training program noted by

    the College Dean and the 3ice President for *cademic *ffairs and approvedby the !niversity President$

    /$ *pproved the recommended but &ualified list of student"traineesre&uested to be assigned in their companies$

    1$ Coordinates with the university.s on"the"#ob training coordinatorwith regards to the re&uest of the university where the student"trainees are to be assigned$

    4$ 'rients the university on"the"#ob training coordinator about thecompany policies with regards to on"the"#ob training program$

    6$ *ssists and advises the university on"the"#ob training coordinator onmatters affecting the on"the"#ob training program$

    7$ Discusses with the university on"the"#ob training coordinatorproblems related to the performance of student"trainees$

    D. C%*pa$y Tra($%r:

    /$ 2%plains the vision, history and the policies of the company to the student"trainees$1$ Introduces the student"trainees to department upon arrival$4$ Informs the student"trainees on what division they will be assigned and their

    specific duties and responsibilities$6$ Introduces the student"trainees to the department or division$7$ ets the limits of the student"trainees involvement and responsibilities in the

    department$8$ Makes periodic assessment of the performance of the student"trainees in

    relation to their on"the"#ob training program$9$ Discusses with the student"trainee the observations made regarding their

    comments and suggestions for student"trainees further improvement$

    :The !niversity, tudent, Cooperating Company;

    6.7 INTRODUCTION

    The on"the"#ob training or supervised industrial training is an essentialsub#ect in all programs offered by the Bataan Peninsula tate !niversity$ Theon"the"#ob training or supervised industrial training provides the student withthe opportunity for professional e%perience in his>her area of speciali(ation$ Ithas a specific re&uired number hours depending on the program enrolled, andbe taken either on the first or second semesters or even summer$ During theon"the"#ob training, the student is provided the opportunity to applyknowledge and skills to practice$ The on"the"#ob training is based on thephilosophy that course work and theory, when supplemented with a variety ofobservations and hands"on work e%perience, will provide the student with theopportunity to enhance his>her professional development and increaseunderstanding and appreciation of the profession$

    The on"the"#ob training is a bridge for the student between theacademic preparation and the professional future$ It is a three"waypartnership between the student, the on"the"#ob training program, and theuniversity$ *ll parties in the relationship assume definite responsibilities,

    perform specific functions, and achieve benefits as a result of theinvolvement$

    8.7 OB!ECTIVES

    The ma#or ob#ectives of the on"the"#ob training are summari(ed asfollowsE

    /$ To e%pose the students to the various aspects of industrial practices and workethics$

    1$ To apply the training knowledge and skills for the preparation of their final

    year of their chosen program$4$ To enable the students to gain e%periences, relate and apply the knowledge

    and skill ac&uired in academic settings to real industrial situations andproblems$

    6$ To give the students opportunities to use new technology as it is use incompany$

    7$ To enable the student to develop new skills in leadership, supervisory andadministrative roles$

    8$ To ac&uire skills of the various operations, process and techni&ues used incompany$

    9$ To facilitate the development of professional work ethics$

    9.7 DURATION

    The duration of the on"the"#ob training to be completed by the studentis depending on the course enrolled during the current semester or summeras re&uired by the program$

    .7 ELIGIBILITY

    Prior to registering to on"the"#ob training students must$

    /$ +ave successfully completed all re&uired course work or pre"re&uisites prior to on"the"#ob training$

    1$ +ave no disciplinary record from the guidance office$4$ +ave turned in and had approved all forms and documentation

    re&uired for on"the"#ob training$

    ;.7 ON-TE-!OB TRAINING PLACEMENT

    The university will be the one to look for the industries where thestudents are to be deployed$ The student is also encouraged to apply for theindustrial training placement on his>her own choice unless a waiver should besubmitted prior to his>her re&uest$ The training venue chosen should givesome &uality e%posure on the field of his>her ma#or course$ +owever, thestudent should checkon the company.s profiles which are on the list of therecommended training venue$ The student may also consult with the '0TCollege Coordinator for this matter$

    /$ ecure Checklist of 2valuation from the office of the Aegistrar andsubmit to the College Dean to confirm your eligibility to undergo on"the"#ob training$

    1$ *ttend the scheduled orientation session to understand all the details ofthe on"the"#ob training as to university policies on on"the"#ob training

    and general company policies and standards re&uired of you as studenttrainee$

    4$ ubmit all the re&uirements not later than one week before on"the"#obtraining starts$

    6$ end the complete and certified Industrial Training otificationconfirming your acceptance upon reporting for on"the"#ob training$

    7$ ubmit Monthly *ccomplishment Aeport to the on"the"#ob trainingCoordinator$

    8$ Prepare a logbook>portfolio where all the training activities are recordedeither on daily or weekly basis and certified by the industrial trainingcoordinator$

    9$ *ttend seminar on problems met as scheduled by the '0T CollegeCoordinator$

    ?. 7 EVALUATION SCEME

    company supervisor or trainor must complete this form and besubmitted to the '0T College Coordinator during the last week of on"the"#ob training of the student from the company$ It is theresponsibility of the student trainee to provide the Company upervisoror trainor with this form and check if it has been hand over or mailed tothe '0T College Coordinator as scheduled$
