Things looked good for the Tomcats at first, who scored from an eight-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Quintavious Caldwell to Tegland Duckworth early into the first quarter of the game. However, it wouldn’t stay that way for too long as the Tomcat defense was no match for Cavalier standout Austin Taylor who rushed for 136 yards. Crockett managed to squeeze some touchdown granting offensive drives, and by halftime, had the score at 24-7. With momentum still built from the first half, Crockett would score again in the third quarter, bringing the score to 31-7. Still, despite the score, the Tomcats would not go down without a fight. And this was shown through another touchdown pass from Caldwell, this time to Jarvis Johnson in the early fourth quarter. Standout players for the game were Terry Grandberry who ran for 100 yards and gained 168 yards on the ground, and Caldwell with his two touchdown passes.
