The biometric attributes, viz. fingerprint and iris images are not captured at the time of enrolment. 2. In accordance to Section 17 of the Aadhaar (Enrolment & Update) Regulations,2016 the biometric information i.e. Finger prints and Iris of children to be updated upon attaining the age of 5 years and 15 years. 3. A large number of Aadhaar issued to children below 5 years of age found to have not been provided with / updated with the Biometrics of the Aadhaar holders on attaining the age of 5 years / 15 years respectively. 4. In view of above, it has been decided that :- (i) Suspension of Aadhaar : Children who have attained the age of 7 years and have not updated their biometrics, their Aadhar shall be suspended for want of biometric update. Once, the biometrics are updated, Aadhaar shall become active. (ii) Cancellation of Aadhaar : The Aadhaar holder enrolled as a child without biometrics and the current age of the Aadhaar holder has crossed 15 years (may be after updating date of birth or otherwise ) but, still Aadhhar have not been provided with / updated with the biometrics, such Aadhaar shall be cancelled. (iii) Authentication : In case of children enrolled without biometric, OTP auth or OTP eKYC shall not be allowed till they update their biometrics. 5. This has approval of competent authority. Sub:- Policy for Children Aadhaar without Biometrics

Sub:- Updation of Name. Gender and Date of Birth.

The Aadhaar (Enrolment and Update) ( Sixth amendment) Regulations, 2018provides that the date of birth of resident can be updated only once. In case the date

of birth is to be updated more than once, it can be done through an exception

handling process which may require the resident to visit Regional Office (RO) of the

UIDAL Similar decision has been taken for Name and Gender which can be updatedtwice and once respectively.

2. Further to this, it has been decided that one time change in date of Birth (DoB)

shall only be allowed plus / minus one year of existing age in Aadhaar else the

update shall be rejected.

3. However, for genuine cases of update of Name/ Date of Birth and Gender more

than the threshold, an exception process shall be followed as below :-

(a) Resident may approach Regional Offices with relevant details of updatealongwith necessary proof documents.

(b) RO shall do the due diligence and ascertain whether the update request isgenuine. RO may seek additional information from resident or carry freldinvestigation as required.

(c) In case RO ascertain the request to be genuine, case shall be sent to TechCenter for processing / reprocessing the request.

(4) This has approval of competent authority.
