This year the World Scout Foundation celebrates 1,725 amazing women and men from 73 countries who make up the World Baden-Powell Fellowship.

These leaders have already worked tirelessly to ensure that young people in their home communities are inspired as Scouts so that they change their world for the better. And then, as Baden-Powell Fellows, they broadened their focus to look at the needs of young people in less fortunate parts of the world.

Internationally minded, inspired and kind spirited, these Baden-Powell Fellows have helped to spark the energy and enthusiasm of millions of young people in the past year.

They have provided vital financial resources, yes, but they do much more than provide funds – they inspire, they energise and they lead by example.

The Honorary Chairman of the World Scout Foundation, His Majesty Carl XVI Gustaf, King of Sweden, meets with Fellows and Scouts during his many travels. In the United Arab Emirates he welcomed HH Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, into the Fellowship.

His Majesty personally recognizes each new Baden-Powell Fellow and again as they progress through the steps in the Honours Programme.

1. The World Baden-Powell Fellowship 8 - 23

His Majesty presents this honour to supporters of World Scouting who contribute US$ 10,000 either in one single contribution or in three payments over three years.

Baden-Powell Fellows who have pledged US$ 1 million or more are personally recognized by His Majesty as members of the Regal Circle.

The Chairman’s Circle 26

Baden-Powell Fellows who have made gifts totalling US$ 100,000 are honoured by His Majesty and welcomed as members of this circle.

The International Circle 26

Baden-Powell Fellows who have made cumulative gifts of US$ 50,000,are recognized by His Majesty as members of this circle.

The Benefactors’ Circle 27

Baden-Powell Fellows receive a further recognition as members of the Benefactors’ Circle from His Majesty when their cumulative gifts to the Foundation reach US$ 25,000.

The World Baden-Powell Fellowship recognises individuals for their contributions to the World Scout Foundation to help support Scouting around the world.

The Fellowship provides members a lifetime association with the Scout Movement and with business, government and Scouting leaders who share the same ideals.

Fellowship receptions are periodically held in different parts of the world to inform members about Scouting, and for the presentation of insignia to new members. Presentations are normally made by the Honorary President of the World Scout Foundation, His Majesty The King of Sweden.

The Honours Programme

The Honours Programme recognises those who have attained higher levels of financial support to the World Scout Foundation.

Recognition for joining of the Circles of membership is given on a special occasion, usually by H.M. The King of Sweden, Honorary Chairman of the World Scout Foundation.

All gifts to the Foundation are counted towards achieving the four Circles of the Honours Programme. These include contributions to the Baden-Powell World Fellowship, the Royal Birthday Appeal and the Queen Silvia Fund.

This programme was set up at the initiative of Australian Baden-Powell Fellow, Geoff Lee.

The Honours Programme counts 218 members.

Today there are more than 28 million Scouts, young people and adults, male and

female, in 216 countries and territories, and the Movement continues to grow. In the

last 15 years, with the support of the World Scout Foundation, 38 countries have joined

the World Scout Organization. Scouting is returning to Afghanistan and Iraq.
