Dear Friends,
First, let me thank all of you for making this Christmas Season so grace filled! Our parish choirs,
altar servers, ushers, lectors and Eucharistic Ministers did an incredible job! The Church, the Chapel and our
outdoor decorations were spectacular. I would also like to thank our entire parish staff for working so well
together. Each and every person did “the extra” and the parish is grateful. Finally, your Christmas Gift to
the parish once again showed your appreciation and support for all that we attempt to do here. As you can
see we collected almost $70,000 as a Christmas Gift. I am thankful for your tremendous sacrifices.
Next Sunday we will offer a special mass for all of our young people and their chaperones going on
pilgrimage to be with Pope Francis and thousands of Catholic youth from around the globe. They will be
gathering in Panama for more than a week. Each young person has worked hard to attend this pilgrimage.
All of them needed to contribute $750 and then work hard to raise the additional funds. All totaled our
young people raised more than $35,000 in order to attend this pilgrimage. Many of the money came from
you – our wonderful and generous parishioners. Next Sunday’s Pilgrims Mass will be offered at 11:30 am in
the chapel. The first names and photos of all those attending the Panama pilgrimage are being published
today. Please keep these pilgrims in your prayers.

Primero, permítanme agradecerles a todos por hacer esta temporada navideña tan llena de gracia.
¡Nuestros coros parroquiales, servidores del altar, ujieres, lectores y ministros eucarísticos hicieron un
trabajo increíble! La iglesia, la capilla y nuestras decoraciones exteriores fueron espectaculares. También me
gustaría agradecer a todo el personal de nuestra parroquia por trabajar tan bien juntos. Todas y cada una de
las personas hicieron "lo extra" y nosotros, la parroquia, estamos agradecidos. Finalmente, su regalo de
Navidad a la parroquia demostró una vez más su aprecio y apoyo por todo lo que intentamos hacer aquí. Co-
mo puede ver, recaudamos casi $70,000 como regalo de Navidad. Estoy agradecido por sus
tremendos sacrificios.
El próximo domingo ofreceremos una misa especial para todos nuestros jóvenes y sus acompañantes
en peregrinación para estar con el Papa Francisco y miles de jóvenes católicos de todo el mundo. Se reunirán
en Panamá por más de una semana. Cada joven ha trabajado duro para asistir a esta peregrinación. Todos
ellos necesitaron aportar $ 750 y luego trabajar arduamente para recaudar los fondos adicionales. En total,
nuestros jóvenes recaudaron más de $ 35,000 para asistir a esta peregrinación. Mucho del dinero vino de
ustedes, nuestros feligreses maravillosos y generosos. La misa de peregrinos del próximo domingo se

ROSARY SOCIETY MASS

ROSARY SOCIETY MEETING
ON THURSDAY, FEB 7, 2019
Some members of the Rosary society took a picture last Sunday after mass. The Rosary Society meets for mass on the first Sunday of every month at 10 am. They hold their monthly meetings the following Thursday at 2pm in Heafey Hall. The Rosary Society is open to all members of the parish.
GUADALUPE COMMITTEE We are grateful for the hard work and dedication of
Ivan and Cecilia Dominguez. Their family and their committee worked for many years to
make our Guadalupe celebrations a success. At their request they will be stepping away from
this leadership role. Our parish thanks them for their many years of service! Deacon Daniel
Magana will now be leading the new Guadalupe Committee. The committee will meet for
prayer and planning every month on the 12th day! The first meeting will take place on
Tuesday, February 12th at 6:30 pm in the rectory. Anyone interested in joining this committee
should contact Deacon Daniel at the parish office 718.424.5400.
COMITÉ DE GUADALUPE Estamos agradecidos por el arduo trabajo y la dedicación de

In order to give letters of recommendation,
letters attesting to character, sponsor
certificates, and other documents that may
have legal or religious purposes, it is
required that persons requesting those
documents be registered and be active
members of Saint Bartholomew Parish
at least three months prior to your
request. We can not provide any
of these documents to people not
registered in the parish.
SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION
There are two times every Saturday for
confessions in the main church: 4 pm and
6:30 pm. Also Thursday at 6:30pm in the
Chapel. We now have two priests assigned
during these times to make it convenient
and less time to wait. Please do your
part…. come as close as possible to these
confession times. Take advantage of this
wonderful opportunity of God’s
mercy and love.
NECESITA UNA CARTA
DE SU IGLESIA? Para poder otorgar cartas de
recomendación, de buen carácter moral, como para ser padrinos de algún sacramento
y documentos para propósitos legales o religiosos, se requiere que quienes necesitan
estos documentos, estén inscritos y sean
miembros activos de la Parroquia de San Bartolomé por lo menos tres meses antes
de su solicitud. No podemos entregar ninguna certificación a las personas que
no cumplan con estos requisitos.
SACRAMENTO DE RECONCILIACIÓN Los sábados las confesiones en la
iglesia principal son a las 4 pm y 6:30 p.m., también los jueves a las 6:30 pm en la capilla. Ahora tenemos dos sacerdotes asignados durante estos tiempos para

INDONESIAN MASS
On the 4th Sunday of every month mass is celebrated in
Indonesian at 3 p.m. in the chapel (Ithaca Street).
Following the mass there’s always a reception in Heafey
Hall. The next mass will be celebrated January 27 at
3 pm. All are welcome to attend.
CHINESE MASS
各位主内的兄弟姐妹，大家好，我们将在元月20号中午
1点30分，在圣巴尔多禄茂小堂，做中文弥撒，邀请大
家来参与弥撒，也请大家互相转告。愿天主降福大家 Dear brothers and sisters in Christ greetings, we are going to have our Chinese mass in St Bartholomew chapel on January 20. 1:30pm. All are invited to join the mass and please also pass the news around.
BISHOP WITOLD The bishop will be celebrating mass for our Bengali and Burma families on Sunday, February 3 at 4:30 p.m. These communities are growing and attend mass together on the first Sunday of each month. Bishop Witold is eager to come and celebrate mass for them as well as greet them personally. Following the mass there will be a reception in Heafey Hall. ALL are welcome to attend- this is not limited to people from Bangladesh or Burma. These families are extending an invitation to every family in our parish.
TEGALOG MASS
On the 3rd Sunday of every month mass is celebrated in
Tagalog for the Filipino community at 5 p.m. in the
chapel (Ithaca Street). The next mass will be celebrated
on Sunday January 20, 2019. All are welcome to attend.
END OF THE YEAR TAX STATEMENTS
Tax letters will go out sometime by the middle of January.
Those who have contributed less than $500 and would like
to receive a statement should contact Raul Ortiz at the
parish office. Please… when you receive your statement if
there is any discrepancy please do not get upset…
contact Raul at the office.
