There is a strong relationship between attendance and student learning. We would encourage families of students that have a poor record of attendance to implement strategies for next term that will help to address this issue. The school is happy to support families in improving attendance and punctuality. On Friday we look forward to our community members attending the School Athletics Day between 9am – 12:30pm here at school. The Athletics Carnival is a wonderful opportunity for our school community to gather and celebrate. We are still looking for parent helpers so if you can assist on the day, please let one of our staff know, or simply offer to help on the day. Our school board held its Annual General Meeting last Thursday night. From the elections held Joanna Stieber has been reappointed as School Board Chair and Breanna Ellis has been appointed as Board Secretary. At the meeting Trish Pini concluded her term on the school board after 10 years. The school would like to acknowledge the time and effort that Trish has contributed over her many years of service. The school board meets monthly and is looking for new members. If you are interested in being a school board member please contact the office. We farewell Alex Dywer who has worked in both the Community of Learners and as the book keeper in the front office over the last 12 months. Alex and her children will join their husband who has been posted to Sydney with the Navy. I would like to thank Alex for the great work that she has done and wish her all the best on the next adventure. We welcome Tammy Richards who currently runs our canteen to the additional role of book keeper in the front office. This week we also farewell Jolie Chan who has worked as an Inclusion Support Assistant at the school for a number of years. Jolie and her family will be returning to the Netherlands and we wish them well. A reminder that students are currently being encouraged to seek sponsors for our Dance-a-thon, which will be held on the last day of term. All funds raised will be put towards installing a new adventure playground for the senior students, so please dig deep. Principal’s Reflection

10 June, 2015

Week 9, Term 2

Dear Families,

Over the past weeks teachers have been preparing assessment results for every student in the

school. Tomorrow, the Semester 1 school reports will be sent home which cover all curriculum

areas. Please take the time to discuss the report with your child and acknowledge their high-

lights, as well as areas that could be improved upon. Remember when reading the results on

your child’s report that a grade achievement of “C” means that they are at the expected stand-

ard for the subject area.

There is a strong relationship between attendance and student learning. We would encourage families of students that have

a poor record of attendance to implement strategies for next term that will help to address this issue. The school is happy to

support families in improving attendance and punctuality.

On Friday we look forward to our community members attending the School Athletics Day between 9am – 12:30pm here

at school. The Athletics Carnival is a wonderful opportunity for our school community to gather and celebrate. We are still

looking for parent helpers so if you can assist on the day, please let one of our staff know, or simply offer to help on the

day.

over the last 12 months. Alex and her children will join their husband who has been posted to Sydney with the Navy. I

would like to thank Alex for the great work that she has done and wish her all the best on the next adventure. We welcome

Tammy Richards who currently runs our canteen to the additional role of book keeper in the front office. This week we

also farewell Jolie Chan who has worked as an Inclusion Support Assistant at the school for a number of years. Jolie and

her family will be returning to the Netherlands and we wish them well.
