OBJECTIVES

• Demonstrate an ecologically sustainable method for recycling of wastewater and organic waste

• Evaluate biological technologies• Transform organic fractions to

usable resources

• Increase environmental awareness

• Spreading knowledge and support the Sixth Environment Action program

ACTIONS & MEANS 1

• Build high efficient biological wastewater treatment plants

• Build wetlands as final purification step of the wastewater

• Integrate wastewater treatment with process for recovery of nutrients in produced sludge and organic waste

• Install waste mills in households

• Use wastewater piping for transport of organic household waste

• Organize collecting system for organic waste

• Build ECO-park in connection to the treatment plant

• Inform and engage citizens to active co-operation

EXPECTED RESULTS 1

• Ecologically sustainable model for recycling of wastewater and organic waste

• Demonstration and evaluation of biological solutions

• Scientific evaluation of a complete recycling system

• Elimination of contamination to soil, groundwater and water supply

• Deceleration of eutrophication damages

• Decreased emission of heavy metals and organic substances

• Water to recipient complies EU directive 76/160/EEG

• Purification wastewater plant:

P=95%, N=70%,BOD=95%

Including wetland; P≥98%, N≥95%, BOD≥99%

• Nutrients recovery; P 95%, N 50%,

K 95 % of treated material content

• Decreased waste transports 70 %
