1. Page formatting using the Page Layout and Scaling Features in Excel.

2. Page layouts – Landscape and Portrait – exercise to produce both. Scale and move objects to fit and improve the presentation and quality of the output.

3. Heading and Footers Ref page 2.66

a) Page Header and Page Footers typically provide general information that is useful and common to each page, i.e. header > your logo or small graphic file, file name or worksheet title, Footer > page numbering, date printed (today’s date), copyright or legal notices, author or creator name.

b) A page header is a line or several lines of text that appear at the top of a page just above the top margin line of the page.

c) A page footer is a line or several lines of text at the bottom of a page just below the bottom margin line of the page.

d) Margin lines are: top, bottom, right and left margins. Each typically can be adjusted or formatted using margin controls as part of the page setup features.

• Book Exercise Pages EX2.66 – ( on printing etc)• UME has a networked printer: named: “Hp Laserjet 3015 UME” in Mr Horton office -

Black and white printer or Note: some high resolution printer allow High and low quality draft printer jobs and/or grayscale printing. Gray scale improves quality for B/W printing. Color printing is expensive per page. Most organizations limit or manage color printing.

Lab Exercises / Assignment for Printing to A Networked Printer

Preparing the chart for Printing, etc. Ref: book pages EX 2.65 to EX 2.73. 1. Pull up the Internet Café example from the student network/Class folder for 12-02 Unit 38 Folder. Go

to Excel tab 1 – named: 1.Rawdata graphing exer. Unit382. Do section exercise on printing in class. Page layout (rulers are displayed) and Zoom are used to

quickly view existing layout. Page number and arrange the item and object on an excel worksheet so that they print efficiently onto 1 or 2 pages with no bleed over images.

3. Add your header/footers – Arrange and add key items: Your Name , Print out Date, page #, worksheet name

- Print one in Portrait Print Page layout - Repeat steps 2 to view and adjust the print layout while in the landscape layout and Print same

job in the Landscape Print Page Layout4. A Designated Student will Pick up printout and distribute to each student (their printout). 5. Student will review with parent / Return by Friday 12/06) for extra points. Parent need to initial
