On Saturday, July 02, 2005 LVMPD received a 911 call of shots
fired in the 1600 blockof Cordoba. According to the caller two
Hispanic male were chasing another male andshooting at him. As
patrol officers arrived in the area, a male victim was discovered
in
the alley, east of Cordoba. Medical personnel responded but the
victim passed away asa result of his injuries. The victims name is
being withheld pending the notification ofthe legal nest of
kin.
Homicide detectives responded to the scene and spoke with the
witnesses. Accordingto the witnesses the male victim was seen
walking around the vehicles that were parkedon Cordoba when a newer
model red Oldsmobile was scene. Two of the occupants ofthe vehicle,
both Hispanic males exited the vehicle and started chasing the
victim in aneast bound direction. Witnesses claim hearing numerous
shots. When the shootingstopped, the two suspects are seen
returning back to the red Oldsmobile and fleeing
in a southbound direction.
