News from the Bowe sMay 29, 2011 Darryl and Kathy Bowe Almost that time... Our two-year time of service in Kenya is rapidly drawing to a close. We will be departing from Nairobi on June 27th and, after a bit of transit time in Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport, will arrive in Seattle the 28th. We are looking forward to seeing our children again, and to visiting with friends and family. We plan on taking some time to re-adjust to life in the US and to set up our home in Lake Stevens (WA). Then it will be back to work with ICM USA.Although there are the inevitable details yet to be worked out, for the next few years the new shape of our lives and ministry with ICM will have three broad dimensions and locations: * Administration and Development - ICM USA hdq in Bakersfield* US Field Staff focusing on resourcing the Africa Theological Seminary network– Seattle area* Adjunct Faculty members and Sabaot People Group workers– East Africa (primarily Kenya)US HeadquartersCurrently the plan is to spend several (2-4) months of the year living in Bakersfield and assisting the US office with management and administrative needs. Working with Dr. Phil Walker, President of ICM USA, we hope to identify areas of need within the office that we can do both locally and remotely. One area that Phil has suggested that I can help with is the development of more internet-based seminary courses. Kathy has been asked to help in the area of donor relations, something that she is quite adept at. US Field StaffWe plan to spend 6 months of the year in the Seattle region. We will seek to develop relationships on ICM’s behalf with churches in the area and other Christian organizations that share our burden for leadership training. We will also work on projects pertaining to the development ofour Africa Theological Seminary infrastructure and resources. I have a specific burden for the development of printed and online resources forour school libraries, book stores and course work.
