Wildlife
Where to findGrasshoppers are around in the spring and summer, but aremost noticeable in the autumn. Areas with many grasses, small "vacant" lots and gardens are good places to startlooking. Look at the area as you walk through. If you canhear the plants moving as you walk there are most likelygrasshoppers around. Look during the middle of the day forbest results. At night, use a flashlight to find grasshoppersroosting on the leaves. In the summer and autumn, some
grasshoppers fly into porch lights.
Natural History
HabitatWidespread in U.S.
PredatorsBirds, lizards, mantids, spiders, androdents eat grasshoppers.

ecosystem. Frass (droppings) contribute to nutrientturnover by returning nutrients as fertilizer for the plants.
They provide food for birds and other arthropods.
NegativeSometimes some species of grasshopper occur in very

Black HistoryIn a South Carolina prison sixty-six
years ago, guards walked a 14-year-oldboy, bible tucked under his arm, to theelectric chair. At 5’ 1” and 95 pounds, thestraps didn’t fit, and an electrode was toobig for his leg.
The switch was pulled and the adultsized death mask fell from GeorgeStinney’s face. Tears streamed from hiseyes. Witnesses recoiled in horror as theywatched the youngest person executed inthe United States in the past century die.
Now, a community activist is fighting to clear Stinney’s name, saying theyoung boy couldn’t have killed two girls. George Frierson, a school boardmember and textile inspector, believes Stinney’s confession was coerced, and thathis execution was just another injustice blacks suffered in Southern courtrooms inthe first half of the 1900s. In the Stinney case, supporters want the state to admitthat officials executed the wrong person in June 1944.
Stinney was accused of killing two white girls, 11 year old Betty JuneBinnicker and 8 year old Mary Emma Thames, by beating them with a railroadspike then dragging their bodies to a ditch near Acolu, about five miles fromManning in central South Carolina. The girls were found a day after theydisappeared following a massive manhunt. Stinney was arrested a few hourslater, white men in suits taking him away. Because of the risk of a lynching,Stinney was kept at a jail 50 miles away in Columbia.
The sheriff at the time said Stinney admitted to the killings, but there is onlyhis word — no written record of the confession has been found. No onechallenged the sheriff’s recollection of the confession.
The court appointed Stinney an attorney — a tax commissioner preparing fora Statehouse run. In all, the trial — from jury selection to a sentence of death —lasted one day. Records indicate 1,000 people crammed the courthouse. Blacksweren’t allowed inside.
“As an attorney, it just kind of haunted me, just the way the judicial systemworked to this boy’s disadvantage or disfavor. It did not protect him,” saidMcKenzie, who is preparing court papers to ask a judge to reopen the case.

Know Your Limit : Knowing your limit is the realization thatyou have no limits. Limited access is an access not worthhaving. We as a people are already restricted by so muchthroughout society. Notice our "American Rights", limited tothe 1st Amendment. Limitations restricts freedom.Rebellion steams from the root of restrictions which causesconflict. Why must we have a limit? For focus? Forconcentration? For control. These limits and restrictionswere put into place by the babylon system to confine ourminds into these little boxes while hindering our soul andspirit from growth. The more we know, the less powerbabylon will have. We can not let the system restrict, lock orcontrol us. Do no let the system limit your access to thefreedom we are promised in Christ (Galatians 5:1). If wehave increased knowledge on subject matter the educationadministration fail to teach us the system will crash, crumble and fall like it has already before. Jah Rasta manpromotes emancipation of your mind. Do not hold back thetruth in which you speak. Never imprison yourself! The skyis not the limit! These four walls are not a limit. Open thedoor to freedom, be free. Fuck a limit. In a free society, there are no limits. No skin color, religious practice, age,sex orientation, or education can limit an anti-bondagepeople. Be Free. Step out of the trap and vercome thecaptivities of an impartial society. Speak Out.

Peter Tosh was known as asarcastic and slightly angry man.Peter Tosh saw himself as a
revolutionary, and was vehementin his efforts to tear down"Babylon." He coined his own
words for many of the things whichhe hated, including "politricks" forpolitics, "s**tstem" for system, and "Crime Ministers" for PrimeMinisters. It was this attitude thatearned him the nickname "Steppin'
Razor."
Peter Tosh was born Winston Hubert McIntosh on October 19, 1944 inGrange Hill, Jamaica. Raised by his aunt, he left home in his early teensand headed for the slums of Kingston, Jamaica, known as Trenchtown.Like many of his fellow young aspiring musicians, he found his way to JoeHiggs, a local musician who offered free music lessons to youth. It wasthrough Joe Higgs that Peter Tosh met his future fellow bandmates, Bob
Marley and Bunny Wailer.
Peter Tosh continued to recordinternational hit records for therest of the 1970s and early1980s, and never relaxed hisintense message of revolution. After a live concert release in1984, Peter Tosh took a fewyears off, and his 1987
comeback record No NuclearWar was nominated for a
Grammy Award.
