B.S. Biochemistry Texas A&M University
Hired to work as a chemist for government agency.
Reassigned to teaching during pregnancy & it.
Returned to school to fulfill teaching requirements.
8th grade Science is separated into two parts……
The first part is designed to replace IPC (Integrated Physics and Chemistry) removed from High School curriculum
After Safety and Scientific Method, we will study 12 weeks of Physics and Chemistry
GOAL: Solid Foundation for high school study.
The second part is the traditional 8th grade course of study:
Earth and Space Science
GOAL: Teach concepts- You will NOT study this information again!

Dry erase marker/map pencils/crayons/glue sticks if desired

1/3 Vocabulary(Vocabulary is assigned the first day of the unit and is due test day. VERY SPECIFIC)
1/3 Journal(Journal is composed of warm ups and any daily activity NOT taken for a grade)
1/3 * Tests*(Tests are given every 3 weeks. There is always a study guide and will always be a review the morning of the test.)
Minor grades are assigned every week.
The amount will vary. (Sometimes 2- sometimes 5)
Save minor work until you see the grade in Gradespeed.
Quiz’s will be given every Friday
Homework is usually assigned at least once a week (Sometimes twice)
I usually give students more than one night to complete it.
Study Guides count as double homework grades- they count twice
Homework is the only thing I will NOT accept late- NO EXCEPTIONS
There will be a huge amount of homework during Physics (almost every day)
