Tomi gets confidence vote UK. Aberystwyth Town Chairman, Tony Bates has given under pressure manager, Tomi Morgan a vote of confidence. The Seasiders are rock bottom of the Corbett Sports Welsh Premier League at present with only one league victory recorded. Mr Bates told the Cambrian News newspaper:"I do not believe in making knee-jerk reactions...and I am certainly not considering any change of manager at this stage of the season. We are only a quarter of the season through and we are looking to the long term future of the club. There are a number of young players coming through into the first team. "We have seen other clubs like Barry, Rhyl, Neath and Llanelli get into serious financial trouble, but we’re trying to compete as a local club and are glad to have a local manager." "We've had an extremely disappointing season and while not making any excuses for the poor results thus far, the first team’s lack of form in some matches has obviously been exacerbated by the number of long term injuries to our small squad," Bates added.

High praise for Reds squadFollowing their 5-3 reverse at the hands of Llanelli AFC in the Word Cup, Haverfordwest County's Chairman, Rob Summons has complimented the Llanelli players' professionalism.Summons told the Corbett Sports WPL website: "We heard before the game that the Llanelli players had received some of the money that was owed to them but that a cloud of uncertainty still hangs over the remaining payments. However the off the field problems were certainly brushed aside in the 90 minutes of the game.“Llanelli were professional and clinical and fully deserved their victory. The fact that five different players scored goals for them is testiment to their positive attitude during difficult times.“Their attitude is a credit to their profession and club and I wish them the best for the remainder of the Word Cup and really hope that their financial situation is resolved in the very near future".

Book People stadium to host Wales’ first ever learning disability fixture The Book People Stadium is to play host to Wales first ever National Learning Disability fixture. The fixture will take place on Thursday 8 November 2012 at 12.30 where the home team will take on Northern Ireland. Technical Director Osian Roberts commented "I am very much looking forward to our very first International match at this level against Northern Ireland. A lot of hard work has taken place by a lot of dedicated people to get us to this situation. The calendar of events has been organised for the season and I am pleased we have been able to embrace this Team into our football familyhere in Wales."Bangor City Chairman Dilwyn Jones added“The award of this pioneer fixture to The Book People Stadium is yet another vote of confidence in the excellent facilities we are developing here in Bangor. We look forward to more opportunities of bringing more international and representative fixtures to North West Wales.”

League and FAW support for Llanelli There’s no denying that things are difficult at Stebonheath at the moment with past and present employees owed money by the club. The FAW has been in regular contact all parties involved and is hopeful that a practical and acceptable repayment scheme can be agreed between the Chairman and others concerned as a matter of urgency.Nitin Parekh has invested heavily in Llanelli AFC over the past few years and has given personal assurances to the governing body that he will ‘always honour all commitments’. The FAW will give the Llanelli Chairman all the support possible to resolve this matter. The Llanelli players deserve credit for their commitment to the club and the League during this trying time and the FAW has been keeping the players informed of their contractual obligations and rights as well as of any developments regarding repayment.False and inaccurate reporting in certain publications hasn’t helped the present situation. Our League certainly doesn’t need any undeserved adverse publicity and the WPL Panel will work hard to ensure that a speedy and acceptable outcome is reached which will allow Llanelli AFC and all its present creditors to resolve this difficult episode in the history of the club.

The Corbett Sports Welsh Premier League Manager of the Month for August / September isNEIL GIBSON of Prestatyn Town

Prestatyn Town’s Neil Gibson is this season’s first choice for Manager of the Month. He earns the honour for leading his club’s great start to the season with five wins, two draws and one defeat in their eight matches played in the determining period.

Gibson himself has scored twice – against Carmarthen Town – out of the club’s total if twenty-two so far with onbly twelve conceded.

His choice of new signings during the summer has proved vital following last season’s second phase run of ten straight defeats and shows his prowess at finding the newcomers to bolster his loyal existing squad.

Neil became player manager of the Seasiders and led them to promotion into the top flight at the end of 2007-08Congratulations to Neil on his award which will be presented soon by a representative of League sponsors Corbett Sports

The Corbett Sports Welsh Premier League Player of the Month for August / September isJASON PRICE of Prestatyn Town

The winner of the first Player of the Month award for this season is Jason Price of Prestatyn Town who joined the club in the pre-season.He wins the award after consistent displays in the eight matches during the set period and finding the net six times in the process. Jason scored in four consecutive matches which separates him from team-mate Andy Parkinson who also netted six times.

Pontypridd-born Price joined the club in August of this year following a long Football League career which began in 1995 when he joined Swansea City, for whom he made 130 starts scoring fifteen goals. He moved to Brentford in 2001 and in all made nearly 450 Football League appearances.

Our congratulations to Jason on winning this award.

The Last Word from Gwyn DerfelVictories for the top three once again mean that The New Saints, Prestatyn and Bangor have opened a healthy gap between themselves and Airbus UK who lead the chasing pack in the Corbett Sports Welsh Premier League.Bangor kicked off the weekend with a thumping victory in front of a bumper 700+ crowd at The Book People Stadium against Bala and then there were impressive away day wins for Prestatyn at Newtown and The New Saints at Connah’s Quay on Saturday.I was present at the Deeside Stadium and while the Champions fully deserved their victory, Gap Connah’s Quay are to be complimented for attracting so many of their youth and academy players to the match which generated a healthy attendance of 428.Aberystwyth held a student theme night on Friday and attracted a similar crowd. We all know that attendances need to improve to help portray a more positive image of our League and I commend those clubs who are doing their bit to boost the numbers who come through the turnstiles.Afan Lido are hoping for a very healthy crowd against Airbus UK on Saturday since everyone who can produce proof that they’ve been to the international game the previous night can gain entry for only £4. Let’s hope that the Tartan Army turn up in their droves to drown their sorrows !The top three teams will be at home this coming Saturday – so will there be much change at the top in a week’s time? If you hadn’t planned on going to any WPL game this weekend – give it a go and please let me know what you think.

Y Gair Olaf gan Gwyn DerfelMae’r Seintiau, Prestatyn a Bangor wedi agor bwlch digon defnyddiol rhynddyn nhw ậ’r lleill ar y brig yn Uwch Gynghrair Cymru – Corbett Sports yn dilyn eu buddugoliaethau diweddaraf dros y penwythnos.Mi ddechreudd Bangor fwrw’r Sul mewn steil wrth iddyn nhw ddygu gwers i’r Bala o flaen torf o dros 700 yn Stadiwm Book People ac fe ymatebodd Prestatyn a’r Seintiau’r diwrnod canlynol wrth ennill oddi-cartref yn Y Drenewydd a Chei Connah.‘Roeddwn i yn Stadiwm Glannau Dyfrdwy yn tystio triphwynt haeddiannol i’r Pencampwyr ond rhaid canmol swyddogion y cwb cartref hefyd am sicrhau presenoldeb cynifer o’u chwaraewyr ieuenctid yn y dorf barchus o 428.Roedd noson fyfyrwyr wedi ei chynnal yng Nghoedlan y Parc nos Wener a daeth ymhell dros 400 yno hefyd i dystio’r fuddugoliaeth bwysig yn erbyn Lido Afan. Rhaid canmol y clybiau yma sy’n ceisio cynyddu’r niferoedd sy’n dod drwy’r gatiau.Ddydd Sadwrn yma bydd y Lido eu hunain yn gobeithio cael torf mwy na pharchus wrth i unrhywun sydd wedi gwylio’r gêm ryngwladol nos Wener gael mynediad i Stadiwm Marston am £4 yn unig ar gyfer ymweliad Airbus. Gobeithio’n wir y bydd y ‘Tartan Army’n tyrru yno i foddi eu gofidiau !Bydd y tri thîm ar frig y Cynghrair yn chwarae gartref dros y penwythnos. Sgwn i os bydd unrhyw newidiadau sylweddol o ran safleoedd ymhen wythnos ?
