People used to believe that in the ancient times Great Britain was populated by the race of giants. In legendary tales, giants are sometimes linked with particular places. Some stories about giants were originally told to explain how certain features of the landscape came to exist.
In Northern Ireland, an amazing formation of thousands of columns of basalt, an igneous rock, is known as The Giant’s Causeway. Some people think that the Gog Magog Hills in Cambridgeshire, England, take their name from two legendary giants, Gog and Magog, who were said to be buried in the area. Another story tells how the The Wrekin, a hill in another part of England was first formed when an angry giant cast down a huge spadeful of rocks and soil.

19 वें कॉमनवेल्थ गेम्स इस वर्ष� भारत की राजधानी दि�ल्ली में आयोजिजत किकए जा रहे हैं. इस साल होने वाले कॉमनवेल्थ गेम्स में कई नई चीजें होंगी. हर नई चीज को जानने से पहले उसके इकितहास के बारे में किवस्तार से जान लेना अच्छा होता है.
हर प्रतीक(logo) की तरह ही इसका लोगो (logo)भी समान नहीं रहता हालांकिक इसके समान प्रयोग के लिलए संघ राष्ट्रमंडल �ेशों का लोगो ही उपयोग करता है. इस वर्ष� होने वाले खेलों में लोगो के रुप में चक्र का प्रयोग किकया गया है. चक्र भारत की स् वतंत्रता, एकता और शलि; का राष् ट्रीय प्रतीक है. यह स�ैव चलते रहने की या� दि�लाता है. ऊपर की ओर सकिक्रय यह सतरंगा चक्र मानव आकृकित में �शा�या गया है जो एक गवBन् नत और रंग-किबरंगे राष् ट्र की वृजिD को ऊजा� �ेने के लिलए भारत के किवकिवध समु�ायों को एक साथ लाने का प्रतीक है.
इस वर्ष� कुल 17 खेल शामिमल किकए गए ह ैं जिजनम ें प्रमुख हैं: तीरं�ाजी, जलक्रीड़ा, एथलेदिIक् स, बैडमिमंIन, मुक् केबाजी, साइक्लिक्लंग्, जिजमनास्टिस्Iक् स, हॉकी, लॉनबॉल, नIेबॉल, रगबी 7 एस, शूटिIंग, स्कैश, Iेबल Iेकिनस, Iेकिनस, भारोत्तोलन और कुश् ती.
दि�ल्ली सरकार यातायात को फाइव स्Iार बनाना चाहती हो. सडकों और फ्लाइओवर की हालत �ेख आप एक बार चकरा जाएगंे. हर जगह फ्लाइओवर और पुलों ने यातायात को सुगम बनाने का बीड़ा उठा लिलया है.
